C.O.D.A. All-Region Band Auditions

Edmond Santa Fe High School

You can reach Santa Fe High School by exiting west on 15th street off of I-35 or west on 15th from the Broadway extension. Please get your students to the campus early so they have time to find their audition room. A map of the campus will be available upon entering the building.

ALL STUDENTS are assigned a specific audition time, which will be posted inside the warm-up area (SMALL GYM). Please avoid this area, so as to avoid any appearance of foul play. Students should arrive at their room at least five minutes before their scheduled time to sign in. Tell the mommas there WILL be train crossings, there WILL be slow Starbucks service….there WILL be distant parking….plan ahead….

The C.O.D.A. Office will be located in the Media Center. NO ONE will be allowed in the CODA tabulation office….regardless of how helpful you think you may be.

The warm-up area will be the SMALL GYM in the southeast corner of the building.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but we have 4 room changes for Saturday. The new rooms are VERY NEAR the original rooms, so hopefully this will not cause too much stress for your students. The changes will be marked on the doors of the rooms, there will be large maps posted around the building, and all room monitors will have maps available. The room changes are as follows:

Room 109B and 111B have switched: 109B is now 7th grade Timpani, and 111B is now Marimba
Room FR114 is now FR110
Room 50 is now Room 34
Room 32 is now 33

Excerpts to be used for the auditions will be posted outside each audition room. PLEASE tell your students to find the room when they arrive & find out what music to play. Students will also sight-read in the room (except 7th, 8th/9th prelim rooms). Judges will be placed behind panels to protect anonymity.

Only High School students are required to play scales (which DO NOT have to be memorized). This year the student will play a “Scale Set” which will be a randomly drawn by each student inside the audition room. Scale sets can be found on the OkMEA website.

CONCESSIONS will be located in the main cafeteria. ALL STUDENT FOOD AND DRINK MUST REMAIN IN THE CAFETERIA ! !
