Super Dave Hagel, CHRP & CALP
Dave holds the dual designations of Certified Accelerated Learning Practitioner (CALP) and Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). A certified trainer with Development Dimensions International (DDI), Achieve Global and Behavioral Technology Inc., Dave has also completed the Co-Active Coaching program offered by the Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, California and the certificate program in Conflict Management Studies through Conrad Grebel College at the University of Waterloo. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from the University of Saskatchewan and has achieved the Toastmaster designations of Competent Toastmaster and Competent Leader.
Dave draws on his 30+ years of experience working in union and union-free organizations across Canada to design and deliver soft skills and leadership training for front-line supervisors and their managers. His workshops focus on the acquisition and application of practical, hands-on, day-to-day skills that have been time tested successfully in the “trenches”.
Participants enjoy Dave’s witty sense of humor in approaching the challenges of today’s world of work and his ability to use “real world” examples to illustrate key learning points. Also appreciated is Dave’s ability to use a variety of collaborative and creative learning techniques that engage and stimulate learning.
Dave is a committed life-long learner and is currently working toward Level Two of the Accelerated Learning Certification program. In addition, he has taught the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) preparation workshop for the CHRP designation exam.
His media credits include hosting the Shaw Cable TV program The Leading Edge: Conversations with Saskatoon’s Leaders, co-hosting Main Street, a cable television news program focused on current and community events, and presenting on Business Network News. He has published numerous articles in Enterprise Magazine, Biz Magazine, Canada’s SOHO Magazine, Canadian Manager and The Bottom Line, and has been quoted in the Globe & Mail and the Toronto Star.
Outside of the office, Dave is an avid sports fan and movie buff.
