- Focus on Ch. 8-14
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Spanish 2 is a progressed study of the Spanish language, building on what was learned in Spanish 1. A focus will again be placed on the use of “everyday language” such as emotions, body parts, illnesses, weather, bus and train transportation, air travel, daily routines, grooming habits, restaurants, utensils, food, etc. Similar to Spanish 1, Spanish 2 will also investigate the cultures and traditions of a variety of Spanish-speaking countries. Students will gain a solid foundation for use in both real world settings and further Spanish studies.

All rules will be upheld in this class with regard to tardiness, absences, cell phones, MP3 Players, fighting, harassment, bullying, alcohol/smoking, student valuables, plagiarism, and all others not listed here but in the handbooks.
- “You reap what you sow.”
- In this Spanish course if you put forth a lot of effort and work hard, you will gain a lot in return. If you give little, you will get little in return. It is the choice of each of you to learn the information I give to you and practice outside of class. If you do you both of these you will be rewarded greatly with the ability to speak another language! Speaking another language can take you many places in life!
CHEATING AND PLAGIARISM
- Cheating will not be tolerated in this class. If you are caught cheating, you will receive an automatic zero. Use of translators on smart phones during examinations is considered cheating. Coming to class prepared and having the material studied prior to class is the best way to prevent cheating!
- Refer to the 2014-2015 Student Handbook for the Plagiarism Policy.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
- Parents should feel welcome to communicate any concerns or suggestions to the instructor. The instructor’s email and telephone are on the first page of this syllabus. Feel free to communicate at any time.
