From DWO PCSO Adam Charles:

Dear Residents

Please find below the crime record for the period to 30th November.

Very pleasing to see that there were no burglaries or robberies during the last fortnight.

Excellent news about the car stolen from Elwill Way being recovered so quickly along with a suspect arrested and a jamming device seized. Hopefully they'll be some more similar results and we can get these thieves and their devices off the streets.

Unfortunately the recent theft from motor vehicle offences have shown the importance of not leaving valuables in unattended vehicles.

On a happier note there have been no fraud offences in the last fortnight although unfortunately there are rogue traders operating in the area. Remember never give out your bank account details or PIN number on the phone and if you want any kind of building or gardening work do not allow tradesmen who turn up on your doorstep to do the work there & then. Make appointments to get quotes and get everything in writing before allowing work to commence.

Generally speaking Shortlands remains a very safe area. Now it's December it's lovely to see the different light displays beginning to emerge and bring some much needed brightness to the cold dark nights.

Thanks as always for all your help & support.

Kind Regards

Adam
