Dear Maple View Middle School Families,
Welcome to an exciting 2017-18 school year in our new school. We have some fabulous events and a wonderful PTA Board and chairs to help make it a productive year.
If you are looking to volunteer this school year we have many activities for you to participate in. Just to name a few:
· Book Fair
· Vision/Hearing
· Staff Appreciation
· Ice Cream
· School event dances
We will post more volunteer opportunities on our Facebook page and our website. Please look for us on Facebook at Maple View & Summit Trail Middle Schools PTA. You can also find out what is going on at our new website at MapleViewPTA.org, you must register to see all the information including the calendar and volunteer opportunities and much more. I will be working with ASB to get all spirit days and any events they may have on the calendar as well.
PTA Meetings
We always ask parents to please come to the meetings to learn what is going on and talk about topics that might need to be discussed. We will have morning and evening meetings, please look on the calendar on the website to see meeting dates and times.
There will be meeting dates that will be different from our other PTA meetings. Those dates are November 8th, February 8th and May 10th. On these dates we will actually have a meeting at Maple View Middle School. Only difference is, it will be separate from Summit Trail. These meetings are on a more personal level of hearing what the principal has to say what’s happening in the school and any questions you might have. At this time I will give you updates on what’s going on in the PTA and this is the time to come with questions for me to take back to the board or answer any questions you may have. Keep an eye on the calendar for time and location of these meetings.
NEW ICE CREAM
As you know in the past we had ice cream that included Drumsticks, Klondike, Twix and much more. At the time we had an exception for us to sell those ice cream brands. With this new school year there will not be an exception and we must sell the approved smart snack ice cream. We are working on getting that ice cream in stock, the brand of ice cream we are getting will be from Blue Bunny. More info will come at a later date and will get information updated on our webpage as well.
Events to watch in September:
· September 5th – 18th Spirit Wear sales (Just a reminder money gets turned in to the cashier.)
· September 8th – It’s a Full day – regular school hours.
· September 14th - PTA Meeting @ 9:30am at Summit Trail Middle School Room 403
· September 14th – Open House @ 6:00pm – 7:30pm
· September 15th - Early Releases Begin
· September 21st – Picture Make up day – This will be for new students or those who missed picture day on the 5th. (Picture Retake will be in October) – We are looking for volunteers for Make-up days and Retake days. Here is the link for this: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080c4fa9ac29a20-makeup
