Job Title:
TRIG Administrative Assistant
MAISA is seeking a letter of interest and resume from individuals for the contracted position of Administrative Assistant for the Technology Readiness Infrastructure Grant (TRIG) and its activities. This is a part-time position (up to 30 hours per week) with MAISA as the supervising organization. The term of the position is one year, with potential 1-year contract renewals based on satisfactory performance.
Skills needed for the position:
Knowledge of:
  • Business letter writing and basic report preparation techniques
  • Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
  • English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Database maintenance and report writing
Skills and Ability to:
  • Gather data, prepare data for analysis and type reports
  • Independently prepare correspondence and memoranda
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Work collaboratively with members of the team
  • Maintain confidential records and reports
  • Operate and use computer, copy machine, fax, etc.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public

Qualifications:
  • Proven Administrative Assistant experience
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Extensive software skills are required, especially in the use of Excel, as well as Internet research abilities

Duties and Essential Functions:
  • Initiate information analysis for procedures and reports
  • Create spreadsheets, prepare reports and provide financial data assistance
  • Assist with or updating presentation software files
  • Assist with mailings, printings, projects, etc.
  • Assist in coordination of meetings for TRIG Operations Office
  • Provide information and assistance to intermediate and local education agencies regarding TRIG
  • Assist in the creation of various reports, letters, memoranda and statistical charts; type from rough draft or verbal instruction; may independently compose correspondence related to assigned responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation of materials for meetings
  • Some travel may be required

Salary:
Compensation for this part-time (up to 30 hours per week). Position will be based on qualifications and experience.
