Business Disability Forum recognises BT with Best Service Provider award
London, UK –BT has won Business Disability Forum’s Best Service Provider award as part of the Disability Standard 2011/12, which scores organisations’ performance on disability across the whole business from their products and services to recruitment and facilities. BT has excelled in their committed and proactive approach to removing obstacles for disabled customers.
Joanna Wootten, Director of Information and Advice and Disability Standard lead at Business Disability Forum, says:

The organisation’s commitment to ensure that all customers, including disabled customers, get the best possible experience sets them apart. We were particularly impressed that the focus is on an integrated approach; when devising new products and services, a rigorous process is in place to ensuremaximal inclusivity.
“The telecoms firm hasa specially trained group of community engineers to ensure that disabled and older customers get customer servicetailored to their needs. Theyare the first company to have provided direct accessvia a video relay service for customers who use British Sign Language.”
“BT has a Customer Inclusion Leadership Panel consisting of people with experience of different disabilities to ensure that the firm doesn’t rest on its laurels. This group helps to drive change and progress towards becoming disability-smart and enabling BT to reach and serve the broadest possible customer base.
