Job Title:Online Analyst/SEO analyst

Business Area: GTI Media Ltd – Online Content

Location: HQ, Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Responsible to: Business Analyst Manager

The role

This is an entry level role into the Online team, reporting directly to the Business Analyst Manager. You will assist with SEO and projectworkas well as the day-to-day website management activities that ensure good running and progression of our large-scale, student-facing websites. The ideal candidate will be passionate about online technologies, comfortable with data, and will want to learn best practice in website content management and project management.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Identifying opportunities for optimization and traffic growth
  • Proposing and leading SEO campaigns and related projects
  • Planning and assisting with the release of new features and improvements on our websites
  • Writing clear and logical requirement requests for online designers and website developers
  • Extracting and analysing data to support management decisions
  • Ad hoc project work
  • Weekly and monthly reporting
  • Competitors research
  • Technical website audits
  • Troubleshooting basic content management issues

You must have:

  • Good html skills and understanding of JavaScript and CSS
  • Good MS Excel spreadsheet skills (data manipulation and presentation).
  • Excellent organisation skills: able to prioritise demands and coordinate a range of tasks and activities.
  • Excellent standard of written and verbal English to convey requirements and instructions to developers, designers, editors and business users.
  • Ability to use data to identify trends and patterns, and to inform decisions.
  • An eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good listening and questioning skills.
  • Patience to work through routine and repetitive activities.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a project team.

We’d like to see basic understanding/awareness of:

  • Organic search engine optimisation
  • Web analytics – preferably Google Analytics
  • Web pages, navigation structures and what makes a good website
  • Data manipulation and analysis
  • Content management systems and platforms (we use Drupal 7)
  • Any programming skills would be a bonus but not required

Other information:

  • Permanent full time role – Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm
  • 3 month probationary period
  • Salary dependent on experience – circa £20K per annum
