The business analyst is highly specialized and has the duty to ensure the operational efficiency and excellence of organization. He or she understands the business requirements and business process management so will be able to particular software requirements. The business analyst designs and documents work flow, manages and provides solutions to new business unit ideas, trends, and concepts appropriately through the latest technological paths.
- Duties and responsibilities
As a business analyst plays a key role in the business so he or she will have to fulfill a number of duties and responsibilities and they are as following:
- COLLECTION AND ANALYZE THE INFORMATION: The primary duty is to collect and analyze the project’s business requirements and transferring the same knowledge to development team so will be able to work up on that.
- EVALUATE THE COLLECTED DATA: He or she will have to evaluate the data collected through the methods such as task analysis, business process, surveys and workshops.
- DEVELOP THE PRODUCT: He or she will also have the duty to plays an active role in developing the project and providing suggestions to the development team during the development stage of product to meet the client’s business needs.
- PREPARING THE DOCUMENTS: He or she will have to prepare the document with the accuracy and detailed user interface guides, and functional specification documents.
- COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY: He or she will have to hold the meetings with external clients and internal teams and communicate effectively to deliver product’s functional requirements like screen, interface, and GUI designs.
- DOCUMENTING THE INFORMATION: He or she will have to do the documenting the acquired results of analysis and workflows as well as obtaining sign-off from the appropriate client.
- DESIGN THE TEST SCRIPTS: He or she has to design and execute the test scripts and test scenarios effectively.
- COORDINATING: He or she will have to maintain the coordination with the groups of business unit
- PRESENT THE DOCUMENTS: He or she will have to present the documents to the clients who test, validate, evaluate new applications and functions, and determine issues in services and software.
- RECOMMENED CHANGES: He or she has to oversee and recommend the changes and manage any change requests related to the working project plans daily to meet the agreed deadlines.
Skills and Specifications
There are the numbers of attributes which are needed to be a business analyst so here are the needed skills and specifications as follows:
- ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTER: The candidate should have advanced skills in Ms Word, Outlook, and Excel as will have to work up on that.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The candidate should have strong and solid mathematical aptitude to do the work accurately.
- MANAGEMENT SKILLS: The candidate should have effective project management skills to manage the project.
- ANALYTICAL SKILLS: The most important requirement for the job is that the candidate should have the analytical skills and should have the ability to analyze and document complex business processes.
- DECISION MAKING ABILITY: The candidate should have the ability to make effective decisions under pressure and stress full environment.
- TROUBLE SHOOTER: The candidate should have the ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver in any condition.
- OTHER SKILLS: He or she should have the quality to gather and interpret relevant data and information so will be able to work up on that.
Education and Qualifications
- BASIC DEGREE: the basic degree required for the job is a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or any related field from an accredited institution.
- The candidate having a Master’s degree in Business Administration is an added advantage for the candidate.
