CenturyLink(formerly the Qwest Foundation) has provided $90,000 to the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to promote technology integration and the development of 21st century skills.Teachers & Technology grants are designed to fund projects that use real-world technologies to enrich standards-based curriculum and support student-centered instruction.
The grant application, attached, is the first step in a competitive process that will award $10,000 each to nine teachers or teacher teams who propose a learning project that:
- Meets the requirements of the program.
- Is selected for funding by a state-level review panel.
Teachers and teacher-librarians[1]—certified to teach in Washington State—who work in a Washington State school district with at least one school or administrative building
located in a CenturyLink local service area are encouraged to apply (list of eligible school districts below). The grant application deadline is Tuesday, February 7, 2012.

Eligible Teachers & Teacher-Librarians
K-12 public school teachers who:
- Are certified to teach in Washington State.
- Work .5 FTE and above and whose primary assignment is teaching in a self-contained classroom.(Teachers and specialists who provide only push-in or pull-out services are not eligible.)

- Are certified to teach in Washington State.
- Work .5 FTE and above.
OSPI will consider one teacher or teacher team per application. Previous awardees of the Qwest Foundation Teachers & Technology Grant Program are not eligible to apply.
