Greetings Friends of BHN,

2012 Summary of income and activities

In 2012 BHN raised $15000 from fundraising events, just under $20 000 from Jacaranda House Trust and just under $15000 from Treasure Pleasures Charity shop. Total income from Bulawayo was about $50 000 in the year.

Assisted by our parent charity, in 2012 BHN provided full or partial rent support to approximately 170 individuals in Bulawayo, Gweru and Gwanda living in retirement or frail care homes and a few in their own homes. $41,680 was spent on medical emergencies for a further 80 or so elderly people, part of which came from 2 funds in Harare.

2013

The warm generosity of the Bulawayo community continues to be astounding even as times get harder. We are aware that our fundraising puts people under pressure but the difficult reality of our situation is compounded for the elderly. We have a responsibility to them.

See our expenditure below for the medical emergencies.

Please join us for our final fundraiser of the year at Nesbitt Castle on the 29th June.

SincerelyMike Carter
