CONDITIONS and DEFINITIONS

The Committee reserves the right to add, delete or vary any events or classes listed in this schedule, and in all cases the Committee’s decision will be final.

Bulahdelah Show Society reserves the right to conduct drug tests for prohibitive substances.

All competitors ride at their own risk.

Stallions are excluded from Hack and Riding Classes (other than where stipulated).

Competitors and Exhibitors are advised to be on the grounds early for their events.



CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1) All Exhibitors and competitors competing in horse ring events and Campdraft events and

spectators wishing to enter the ring must sign an insurance indemnity form at post entry box to

obtain necessary wrist bands prior to entering ring area. Wrist bands MUST be worn at all

times.

2) Competitors to have Competitors Information Slips completed and legible if they are place

getters ready to show Steward. Slips to be retained by Competitor for further classes. Extra

copies available from post entry box.

3) Definition of LOCAL – Residing within the Great Lakes Council or be a member of the Bulahdelah Pony Club.

4) Definition of NOVICE – Horse or rider is one has not won a 1st ribbon in a similar event at any

recognised Agricultural, breed or recognised Show

5) Definition of INTERMEDIATE – Having not won a first, second or third placing in a solo event

in a similar height class at any Royal Show.

6) Show Hunter Horses – horses must either compete in the Show Hunter classes or show hack

classes. They may not compete in both.

7) Measuring – All horses in measurement specified classes must be measured before 8:30am

on day of judging. All horses are subject to be measured according to the discretion of the

Judges. 12mm will be allowed for horses wearing shoes.

8) Classes of pairs need not necessarily be of one ownership.

9) Stallions are not eligible to complete in classes other than those specially provided for. No

Stallions/Colts to be handled or ridden by persons under the age of 18yrs. Stallions/Colts,

while in the ring, must wear a bridle with bit. Stallions/Colts must be double tied.

10) Electric fences are not permitted to be erected during the event.

11) All Juniors under the age of 18 years while riding or handling a horse on the Bulahdelah

Showground must wear an AS Approved 383 helmet.

12) All other competitors are encouraged to wear safety helmets when competing.

13) The judge need not award prizes for exhibits in any class which does not in his or her opinion

possess sufficient merit.

14) In awarding the championship the judge shall be required to select the next animal in order of

merit to be champion in the event of the latter being disqualified for any cause.

15) All Breed classes are only open to horses registered to that Breed, and owned by current

financial members. Registration and membership papers may be asked to be sighted.

16) GRAND PARADE Exhibitors are asked to participate in making the Grand Parade a success.

Only ribbons won at the current show may be worn. Untrained and unmanageable stock will

not be admitted.

17) THE AGE of all horses to be calculated from the 1st of August. Every horse foaled before 1st

August in the year shall be deemed to be one year old on that date. Fillies and colts to be

under 4.

18) THE COMMITTEE reserves the right to alter, vary or delete any clause or event in the

programme, and to make any investigation they deem necessary concerning eligibility of any

horse or rider or to withhold prize money if necessary, until enquiries are finalised.

19) AGE FOR CHILDREN EVENTS – Age for child determined on the first day of the show.

20) Entry Fees – All Classes $3.00 unless otherwise stated

21) Prize money/Voucher – All Classes 1st $6.00 and 2nd $3.00 unless stated on schedule – Prize

money to be paid in the ring with presentation of ribbons on Friday’s programme, and on

Saturday for led classes only. All other prize money to be collected from the Ring Secretary

after the Grand Parade on Saturday.

22) Prize money/vouchers not collected within four weeks of the conclusion of the Show will be

forfeited.

23) No responsibility will be accepted by the Society for any exhibits not collected within four

weeks of conclusion of the show.

24) Drug testing may be carried out at this show. Any competitor found to have breached ASC

disputes and disciplinary regulations will be investigated by the ASC Disciplinary Committee

25) Under no circumstances is any alcohol to be brought on the Show grounds.

26) Any exhibitor who desires to enter a protest against any decision on the part of the Judge, or

any decision or act or omission on the part of the Association shall lodge a protest in writing

with one hour on the day upon which the decision, act or omission occurred. The protest shall

set out in detail the circumstances relied upon by such exhibitor and shall be given to or left at

the office of the Secretary, accompanied by a fee of $100.00, which shall be forfeited to the

Association should the protest be deemed frivolous.

competitors agree to complete under the Articles of Association of the Bulahdelah Show Society Inc. and its By- Laws and Regulations

The Bulahdelah Show Society Executive Committee

Members, officials, volunteers, medical personnel, any person,

promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners and lessees of premises

or sites WILL NOT accept liability for any accident, damage, injury or

illness to horses, riders, handlers, beasts, ground spectators or any

other person or property whatsoever AND all competitors WILL NOT

be allowed to compete NOR enter the ring/arena unless a Waiver

and Indemnity has been signed and an WRIST BAND is worn.

The Waiver and Indemnity is required to be signed on the day when

purchasing ring passes. On receipt of the signed Waiver and

Indemnity the WRIST BAND will be issued.

Show Weekend Passes of $13.50 per person entitles the holder to admissionto the two show days plus free admission to the Show for the Pass Holder’s children aged 6-16yrs for passes purchased up until Thursday 14th November.

Weekend Passes purchased after 14th November will be $18 per adult including children 6-16yrs
