3.  Officer’s Report

·  President – Back to School night went well; late in getting paperwork out, so slight delay in getting directories out. Now going to hand out donuts and directories on playground.

* Budget approved at back to school night.

·  Treasurer - available balance $49367.94

·  Fundraising - First outing Wednesday September 23, mini golf outing. Going to contact Jr National Honor Society for volunteers

Keeping Gala in the spring

·  Programs - Parade at 1:30 – moving Family Fun day to Oct. 30th, directly after, For Pre-K-5

·  Assemblies –on Mondays starting Oct. 4th Kidz Art

Oct. 14th – Campfel Productions Anti-Bullying program for Character Ed week, two separate programs for younger kids (Pre-K – 4) and older kids (5-8)

·  Teachers – Mrs Gallo – school supplies went well.

·  Communications – Teresa Parker, big questions about for profit companies advertising on blast and or website. Volunteers – Doreen Penny and Michele Donahue will help come up with procedures and ideas to be presented at next board meeting

Directory will be done this week

·  Community Liaison/Class Parents – class parents have been assigned

4.  Mr Ettore

·  successful back to school night, successful first fire drill, first lock-down Sept. 22.

·  Halloween: 6-8th graders dance for mischief night, police support it, provide prizes

·  Normal Halloween schedule – ½ day, new family fun day 3-4:30. Gives enough time to transition for dance from 6-9

·  Outdoor fields look great – not let them ride bikes and scooters on grass

·  We now have architectural plans on multi-purpose room, now in hands of department of education. Best case scenario – approval by end of October possibly break ground month of November. Realistically, hoping to open doors next fall. Just in waiting game right now.

·  Looking to form a committee soon for media room facelift.

·  HIB parent meeting scheduled for October 8 at 3:00 PM in gym, Mr Bruccoliere (anti-bullying coordinator) & Mrs Sullivan (anti-bullying specialist). Purpose – this is to educate parents as to what HIB could be defined as and what is not bullying. This meeting will EDUCATE the parents. All the information will be put on the website for anyone not able to attend the meeting.

·  Information is currently available on the school website as well

·  School enrollment has declined – would like to “market” our school to ALL in town. Mr Ettore working right now on a brochure, want to make available to all realtors in town. Bigger event is to have a super-intendants open house day – still brainstorming

·  Suggested to have a Pride in MB table at town scarecrow festival on Oct. 17th. PTO hospitality committee will set up table

·  Much discussion on publicizing what our school has to offer to young families
