Construction Youth Trust works with disadvantaged young people aged 14-30 to remove barriers and open up training and employment opportunities in Construction. Through our various projects we help young people to fulfil their full potential, build confidence and self-esteem and provide a chance to develop and demonstrate their natural skills and abilities.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination, management and delivery of the Trust’s ESF funded Budding Builders Active Inclusion project. The project will work with young adults who are long-term unemployed or economically inactive and who have complex barriers to employment. Working alongside a construction trainer, the Coordinator will be responsible for delivering Budding Builders courses in community based venues across Cardiff. Course participants will experience practical trade skills and employability skills which lead to an accredited entry level Health & Safety Award in Construction. Participants are also supported to take a test leading to the industry recognised CSCS Green card.
A full, clean driving licence is essential for this role.
The Post holder will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Job Summary
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the Budding Builders Active Inclusion project in line with Welsh European Funding Office rules and conditions.
- Work with a range of partners including Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities and employers.
- Liaise with employers, education and employment agencies to ensure that clear progression routes for participants into training and employment are provided.
- Win the commitment of employers to offer and support work placements.
- Liaise with, provide employability advice to, and support project participants. Help them achieve accredited learning outcomes.
- Develop, prepare and deliver participatory and interactive sessions to young people from diverse backgrounds who wish to pursue a range of careers in construction.
- Develop and implement learning strategies to inspire and enable participants to overcome learning barriers and increase self confidence, motivation and aspirations for the future.
- Liaise with, support and co-ordinate partners’ and stakeholders’ activity to ensure effective project delivery.
- Make presentations to organisations, individuals, employers and other stakeholders
- Work closely with the Wales Manager to further develop the project.
- Maintain quantitative and qualitative records, review this information and produce summary reports.
- Develop and distribute as appropriate project action plans, updates and progress reports.
- Prepare and develop project documents and materials for internal and external dissemination, including articles, reports and case studies.
- Prepare Risk Assessment reports where necessary.
