Instrumental Lessons for September 2015

Dear Parents,

The start of a new year is the best time to encourage your child to take up an instrument or start singing lessons. You may also be moving up to a new school and want to continue with an instrument your child is already playing.

We offer tuition on all orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, drums and voice. They are usually taught in school, but can be available at the nearest Music Centre if that suits your needs better.

We provide a minimum of 33 lessons per academic year, spread across the three terms but not always equally as the Spring term is always shorter than the others. Lessons are usually individual but for beginners and younger students they can often be in small group of 2 – 4 (depending on availability and instrument) as well.

In order to apply for lessons, please complete the form attached by your school, taking time to read the terms and conditions.

If your form says School Billing then return it to your school and they will inform you of your lesson times and invoice you for the lessons.

If your form says Parent/Direct Billing then return it to your local Music Centre and then we will work with your school to organise your lesson time and we will invoice you for your lessons.

Lesson fees are as follows:

Individual 30 minute lesson / £204 per term
Individual 20 minute lesson / £136 per term
Group 30 minute lesson / £108 per term
Group 20 minute lesson / £72 per term

*For pupils on Free School Meals a 50% subsidy is applied.

*For siblings a subsidy of 25%, 50% and 75% is applied for 2nd, 3rd and 4th siblings respectively.

BLTM is absolutely committed to ensuring that all students can access music lessons and will consider any request for support as appropriate in conjunction with the pupil’s school.

You can usually hire an instrument from the Music Service when you are starting out. The charge is £15 per term and forms are available from your school and your local Music Centre

Music Centres also have a wide range of groups, ensembles and choirs during the week and mainly on a Saturday morning. Playing with others is one of the best ways to improve quickly on an instrument and to really enjoy a range of different playing experiences. Contact your local centre for a schedule of activities.
