Qualifiers for the BSPS Winter Championship Show 2017,

as well as unaffiliated dressage

Restricted qualification - Animals are classified as ‘Restricted’ providing they have NOT been placed 1st to 8th at the RIHS (excluding Pretty Polly and Young Rider classes), HOYS or Olympia in 2015, 2016 or 2017 in the section which they are entering.

Pre-entries close Monday 20th February - £12 per class

Entries taken on the day - £15 per class

Open to any pony 4 years old or over. Riders any age. Maximum height of fences 60cm. This class is open to plaited and Heritage ponies.

Class 2 BSPS Heritage M&M Novice WHP not exceeding 133cms

Registered pure bred ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 133cms. Riders any age.

Fences will be adjusted for each height section a) not exc 122cm b) exc 122cm but not exc 133cm. Ponies must jump in their correct height section. Riders may ride more than one pony providing the animals are of a different height section.

Class 3 BSPS Heritage M&M Novice WHP exceeding 133cms

Registered pure bred ponies 4 years old or over exceeding 133cms. Riders any age.

Fences will be adjusted for each height section a) exc 133cm but not exc 143cm b) exc 143cm. Ponies must jump in their correct height section. Riders may ride more than one pony providing the animals are of a different height section.

Class 4 BSPS Heritage M&M Open WHP not exceeding 133cms

Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, exceeding 143cms but not exceeding 158cms. Riders MUST jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony providing they are of different height sections. Riders must declare if they are competing in the 153cm or Intermediate section.

Class 12 BSPS Open WHP not exceeding 143cms

Class 13 BSPS Open WHP exceeding 143cms but not exceeding 158cms

Stallion, mare or gelding 4 years old or over exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms. Riders any age, with the exception of those riding stallions whom must have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Open to part bred Arab, and Welsh ponies ONLY.

Part Bred Championship. Open to 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 16 & 17

Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Open to SP, SHP, M&M, not required to be plaited. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. This class will be judged on the suitability of the pony to introduce a child to the show ring.

Class 24 BSPS Open First Pony of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony Type

Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Suitable to be ridden by a rider not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Snaffle bridles only. No cantering is allowed except for individual performances, ponies must leave the ring at the walk or trot.

Mini Championship. Open to 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 22 – 24

Mare or gelding 4 years old or over not exceeding 148cms. Riders must be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride

Rider to have no Elementary BD Points. Horse / Pony / Rider Combination not to have won or been placed 1st – 3rd in a Prelim class or higher level prior to 2017.

Class 32 - Unaffiliated Dressage - Prelim 13 (2006)

The combination (horse & rider) are not to have won three times at the level above in a class with more than three competitors.

Class 33 - Unaffiliated Dressage - Novice 27 (2007)
