How should I prepare for the interview day?

One way that applicants can demonstrate their passion for Health and Social Care is by presenting their experiences (whether paid, voluntary or personal) and being able to reflect meaningfully upon them. Additionally, candidates may critically discuss how these experiences inform their career choices. Candidates can show their interest by researching areas of health and social care that are of particular interest and keeping up to date with relevant issues currently in the news. It is also advisable for applicants to carry out some research about the department to which they are applying so that they are more confident in discussing what they are proposing to study.

What will my interview include?

The interview process will typically consist of a presentation from the School about the programme followed by a short video. Applicants can expect to take part in a group discussion, short written exercise and a one-to-one interview. Students customarily have the chance to meet current Health and Social Care students on the day providing an opportunity to ask any questions about the student perspective. It will be possible to address any confidential issues on a one to one basis with the staff member, if required.

Interviews will take approximately 3 hours on a weekday.
