BSc Agriculture Admission Requirements

High School Students

For those applying directly from high school or those with no post secondary background

The BSc Agriculture program (including pre-vet concentration) requires a competitive averageinthesehigh schoolsubjects.For September 2013,admissionis guaranteedfor students with an average of75% and above. Those with an averagebetween70% and74.9% will be placed on hold and only admitted if space is available.

Pre-vet concentration and Physics:Physics 20 is a minimum requirement to take all of the pre-vet courses for U of S, and Physics 30 is strongly recommended. However, Physics 30 does not necessarily need to be used as the fifth subject that we use for calculating your admission average to either of the degree programs. Students who present a higher grade in another eligible class may use that class grade instead.

Post-Secondary TransferStudents and Current/Former U of A Students
Forapplicantswith university transferable courses from another school or Faculty/program

If you have completed 24 or more transferable credits, your admission will be determined by your admission grade point average (AGPA). You must also present a grade of 50% or higher in the required high school subjects.

For September 2013,admission is guaranteed for students who present an AGPA of 2.3 and above. Those with an AGPA between 2.0 and 2.29 will be placed on hold and only admitted if space is available.

If you have completed less than 24 transferable credits, you will be considered on the basis of both your average inthese high school subjects (75% required) and your post-secondary AGPA(2.3 required).

DiplomaTransfer Agreements- Students or graduates fromthese diploma programsare eligible for transfer credit into the BSc Agriculture program based on successful completion ofthe related diploma program.High school pre-requisites in English, Biology, Chemistry and Pure Mathremain in effect.Please email if you are missing any of the transfer student required high school subjects.

MatureStudents (age 21 and older with less than 24 transferable credits)

Individuals must present a minimum 75% average in Biology 30, Chemistry 30 and Pure Math 30 (or equivalent).
