NOTICE TO ALL COMPETITORS

Competitors must have their own public liability insurance.

Competitors should carefully consider the classes they enter.

No class will be delayed due to a competitor being double entered. The only reason for delaying a class will be the incidental delays which occur during the day.

Competitors should also be aware that unless towing a horsebox, NO cars will be allowed in the stockyard. Cars carrying horse tack etc. will be directed to the public car park.

RULES OF COMPETITION AND BYE LAWS

1. All classes, except where otherwise stated, are open to the United Kingdom.

2. Successful owners or owners using handlers are responsible for the safe return of any trophy won to the Society one month before the show date of the following year. Non return of trophies will result in a fine being levied to the value of the trophy and a ban on the owner and/or handler entering the show field for 5 years.

Trophies are donated to the Society for several reasons: sentimental, as gifts, to promote the Breed. Please respect the wishes

of those donated trophies and the Society.

3. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry without assigning any reason for doing so.

4. The Secretary will send tickets of admission to the show field to the Exhibitors on receipt of Exhibitor monies and SAE.

5. Members not in arrears of subscription will be entitled to two free admission tickets.

6. The ages of all animals exhibited to be taken from 1st Jan.

7. The Stewards shall have the power to disqualify any animal, which does not comply with the conditions of entry. All disqualifications as far as practicable will be published in the awards of judges.

8. Attendants in charge of Stock will be subject to the orders of the Stewards, and all persons in charge of animals shall be in attendance at least half an hour before the time appointed for exhibiting the animals in the Show Ring .

9. No animal must be removed from its place without leave from the Steward.

10. Exhibitors of stock etc are not to consign their goods to the Society or any of its officers and the Society will not be responsible for any charges for freight, carriage or delivery.

11. No protest made against any exhibit, will in any case be entertained if made after the decisions are made known by the Prize Tickets having been handed to the successful exhibitor, unless such protest applies to incorrect entry by description. A deposit of £25.00 made in writing, signed and lodged with the secretary, within one hour of judging, accompanying the protest. The Committee shall hear the evidence by the Exhibitor and decide upon which it is entered, also the evidence by the Protester, and decide upon the same. The decision of the Committee shall be final in all cases and without appeal. In case such as protest shall be deemed frivolous and unsupported by evidence, the deposit shall if the Committee think fit, be forfeited to the Society. Those involved in the protest and left to the Society to ascertain must produce all evidence.

12. All disputes of any kind whatsoever, including those between the competitors and the Society, shall be decided by the Committee, whose decision shall be final.

13. Where any condition is attached to the winning of a premium the prize shall not be paid until such conditions have been fulfilled and a certificate thereof produced to the secretary.

14. CARS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN ON THE SHOWFIELD.

BSPS CLASSIC SECURITY (UK) LTD. CHALLENGE

This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Challenge. The highest placed pony in the

in and First Ridden, Open Show Pony, Nursery Stakes, Open Working

Hunter Ponies, Open Show Hunter Ponies, Open Intermediate SH. SRT and WH and

Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, and Ridden and WHP classes.

The highest placed pony that has not qualified for the 2016/2017 Horse of the Year Show in the

Appropriate class, will qualify, if the highest placed pony is already qualified the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.

THE B.S.P.S. PREMIER LEAGUE

This show is a qualifier for the "BSPS Premier League” the 1st. 2nd.

3rd & 4th placed ponies in the following Open classes that are not

qualifiers for theR.I.H.S. or the H.O. Y .S. at BSPS Affiliated shows.

In the following classes:-Lead Rein and First Ridden, 128cms. 138cms. and 148cms.

Show Pony, Lead Rein Hunter Type, 122cms. 133cms., 143cms. and 153cms. Show

Hunter Pony, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, 133cms. 143cms. and 153cms. Working

Hunter Pony, Intermediate Show Riding, Show Hunter and Working Hunter classes

and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, and Ridden and WHP classes.

The final will be held at the BSPS Summer Championships Show.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

The Champion in each of the following sections at all BSPS Affiliated Shows will

qualify for the final of the Champion of Champions at the Summer Championships

Show: - The Mini Show Pony Champion, the Mini WHP Champion, the Open Show

Pony Champion, the Open SHP Champion, the Open WHP/WH Champion, the

Heritage Mini Champion, the Heritage Ridden and WHP Champions.

BSPS BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES Best Rider of the year.

This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Best Rider of the Year. The best rider in each ef the following Open will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championship Show.. Lead Rein, First Ridden, Show Pony, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, SHP. Cradle & Nursery Stakes, WHP, Intermediate SRT, SH & WH, Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and the best rider 25 years and under in the Heritage Ridden & Heritage WHP, classes.

CLASS 1 Open Riding Horse, Mare or gelding exceeding 148cms. 4 years old and over. Rider to have attained their 15th birthday before the 1st Jan in the current year.

CLASS 2 Open ridden hack, mare or gelding 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 160cms. Rider to have attained their 15th birthday before the 1st Jan in the current year.

CLASS 3 Open ridden cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cms. Rider to have attained their 15th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.

CLASS 4 Open ridden small hunter, 4 years old or over, mare or gelding, exceeding 148cm but not exceeding 158cms rider any age.

CLASS 5 Novice hunter, 4 years old or over , mare or gelding , exceeding 148cm. Rider any age .

CLASS 6 Open lightweight hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, capable of carrying up to 79.5kgs (12 stone 7lbs). Rider any age.

CLASS 7 Open middleweight hunter mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, capable of carrying 79.5kgs (12 stone 7lbs) and not exceeding 89kgs (14stone). Rider any age.

CLASS 8 Open heavyweight hunter mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, capable of carrying over 89kgs (14 stone). Rider any age.

1st&2nd prize winners from classes 1-8 to compete for Horse Championship.

CLASS 9 Leading rein pony Mare or gelding 4 years or over not exceeding 122cms. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Rider not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January of the current year.

NO CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 3 YEARS MAY COMPETE

CLASS 10 First ridden pony, Mare or gelding 4 years or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday, before the 1st January in the current year.

CLASS 11 Open show pony, Mare or gelding 4 years or over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 13th birthday before 1st Jan in current year.

CLASS 12 Open show pony, Mare or gelding 4 years or over, over exceeding 128cm, not exceeding

138cms. Riders not to have attained their 15th birthday before 1st Jan in current year.

ClASS 13 Open show pony, Mare or gelding 4 years or over, over exceeding 138cm, not exceeding

148cms. Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st Jan in current year.

1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 11 – 13 to compete for Show Pony CHAMPIONSHIP. This championship is a qualifier for the www.handleyequestrian.co.uk Champion of Champions

Champion to compete in SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP.

CLASS 14 Mixed height novice show pony, Mare or gelding 4 yrs or over, not exceeding 148cms. Riders to be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride.

CLASS 15 Mixed height intermediate show riding type,

Mare or Gelding 4 years or over exceeding 146cms. But not 158cms Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before the 1st January in the current Year.

1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 9-13 & 1st-3rd prize winners from classes 15 + 1st to 4th from class 14 will qualify for the B.S.P.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOW, provided the pony is owned and registered in accordance with Rule 23 & ridden by a B.S.P.S. Member.

INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 15 and 31 to compete. The champion will qualify for the BSPS www.handleyequestrian.co.uk Champion of Champions

Champion to compete in SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP.

WORKING HUNTER PONY SECTION

This Show is affiliated to B.S.P.S. and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. Classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the B.S.P.S. including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S.

This show is a qualifier for the 2017 …. 1st & 2nd p/w 17, 18, 19, 20… 1st, 2nd & 3rd p/w 16 & 21, 1st – 4th from class 22., provided the pony is owned and registered in accordance with Rule 23 and ridden by a B.S.P.S. member.

CLASS 16 CRADLE STAKES. Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 11th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences see Rule 202.

CLASS 17 NURSERY STAKES. Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences see Rule 202 (this class is a Qualifier for PUK Colne Nursery Stakes Summer Championship

Mini WHP Championship 1st & 2nd from classes 16&17 to compete Champion will qualify for the BSPS WHITE COMPANY Champion of Champions.

CLASS 18 Open W.H.P Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences see Rule 202.

CLASS 19 Open W.H.P. Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, exceeding 133cms but not exceeding 143cms. Rider not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences see Rule 202.

CLASS 20 Open W.H.P. Mare or gelding 4 years old or over, exceeding 143cms but not exceeding 153cms. Rider not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences: See rule 202
