SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS
1. AUTHORITY The event will be a National Championship Hillclimb (hereinafter referred to as “The Event”) and will be conducted under the International Sporting Code of the F.I.A., the National Competition Rules (NCR) of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Limited (CAMS), the Speed Event Standing Regulations, the Australian Hillclimb Championship Sporting Regulations, these Supplementary Regulations, and any further regulations or instructions which may be issued, and shall be subject to CAMS PERMIT NUMBER 816/3010/01
The event will be conducted under and in accordance with CAMS OH&S and Risk Management Policies, which can be found on the CAMS website at www.cams.com.au

4. THE EVENT The event will be the 2016 CAMS Latrobe City Australian Hillclimb Championship, to be conducted at Bryant Park, Haunted Hills, Yallourn on October 27 to October 30, 2011. The track has a sealed hot mix surface, is approximately 1.25 kilometres in length, and has a minimum width of 6 metres.
5. ENTRIES Entries will open on the publication of these regulations and will close at 5.00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016. Entry fee for the event will be $300 per driver (Junior drivers under 18 on October 27, $150). All entry fees include GST. Cheques and Money Orders should be made payable to the Gippsland Car Club Incorporated. Entry forms must be completed in full, accompanied by the entry fee, and be lodged with the Secretary of the Meeting. Entries may be posted, or can be emailed to If entries are emailed, entry fee/s should be direct debited to the Gippsland Car Club, Bendigo Bank, BSB 633 000, Account Number 1574 73836. The Promoters reserve the right to refuse entries in accordance with NCR83 of the current CAMS Manual. A maximum of two drivers per vehicle will be accepted for this event.
Certain public, property, professional indemnity and personal accident insurance is provided by CAMS in relation to the event. Further details can be found in the CAMS Insurance Handbook, available at www.cams.com.au The Promoters reserve the right to stipulate the number of entries for the Meeting, and select entries in excess of such number at their absolute discretion. The maximum number of entries may be 140, accepted in order of receipt.
6. COMPETITION Official Practice will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, commencing at 9.00 a.m.. Official runs will commence at 9.00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 and at 9.,00 a.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016, Each competitor will have a minimum of four official runs on Saturday, October 29, 2016, and a minimum of three official runs on Sunday, October 30, 2016. The final number of official runs on each day will be notified to competitors at the Drivers Briefing prior to competition on each day. All drivers must complete at least one practice run on Friday, October 28, 2016, unless unforeseen circumstances prevent this from occurring.
7. PERSONS ELIGIBLE The event shall be open to members of clubs affiliated with CAMS who are holders of a CAMS Level 2S 2SJ or higher Licence.
8. SCRUTINY Scrutiny will commence at 7.00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, 7.00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, and 7.00 a.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016. All cars must be scrutineered and passed for competition prior to the commencement of competition on each day. CAMS Licences, Competition Records and current Club membership cards must be produced at Scrutineering and on request during the meeting. All vehicles competing in the 2016 CAMS Latrobe City Australian Hillclimb Championship must be the subject of a CAMS Log Book, which must be presented at Scrutineering.
9. DRIVERS BRIEFINGS The attendance of all drivers is required at Drivers Briefings to be held at 8.35 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, and at 8.35 a.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Drivers who fail to attend such briefings may be liable for a penalty imposed by the Stewards. The starting order will be advised at the Drivers Briefing. Any changes to the running order during the event are at the discretion of the Clerk of Course.
10. TIMING Timing will be electronic, and be to one hundredth of a second (0.01). Event winners will be those competitors with the fastest time for a single run in each class. In the event of a tie, the next fastest official time of each competitor will determine the event winner. Timekeepers will be considered Judges of Fact.
11. PROTESTS Any protests must be lodged in accordance with Part XII of the NCR.
12. ABANDONMENT The Promoters reserve the right to abandon, postpone or cancel the meeting in accordance with NCR 59.
13. SAFETY - DRIVER Drivers must wear a helmet to a standard listed in Schedule D of the current CAMS Manual, and be deemed by the scrutineers of the event to be in a suitable condition for motorsport use, non-flammable clothing, suitable footwear, and goggles or visors with lens other than glass in open cars (see Schedule D of the current CAMS Manual).
14. SAFETY - CARS The attention of competitors is drawn to Schedules A and B of the General Requirements for Cars and Drivers of the current CAMS Manual, in which all vehicle requirements are listed in detail. In particular, fuel must be in accordance with Schedule G of the current CAMS Manual and all vehicles must be adequately muffled to comply with noise restrictions.
15. ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND OTHER SUBSTANCES. Any holder of a CAMS ‘Competition’ or ‘Officials’ licence (or equivalent licence issued by another ASN) may be tested for the presence of drugs (or other banned substances) and subject to a penalty(ies) for a breach in accordance with the CAMS Anti-Doping Policy and/or the CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport (Safety Testing) Policy as published on the CAMS website. Consumption of alcohol in the paddock, pits or any other section of the competition venue/course under the control of the Officials is forbidden until all competition is concluded each day. Accordingly, any holder of a CAMS ‘Competition’ or ‘Officials’ licence (or equivalent licence issued by another ASN) may also be tested for the presence of alcohol by a CAMS Accredited Testing Official (CATO) in accordance with the CAMS Standard Operating Procedure for Breath Alcohol Testing.

Classes may, at the Promoters discretion, be combined where there are less than three entries in a class. Where there are sufficient entries, further classes may be created. Competitors in Historic – Other must provide a Certificate of Description for their vehicle. Specific classes will be held for competitors in Historic – Other where three or more entries are received in the same category.
Each automobile with a turbo or supercharged engine shall be classified according to its effective cylinder capacity as follows:
· Spark ignition engine – nominal cylinder capacity x 1.7
· Compression ignition (diesel) engine – nominal cylinder capacity x 1.5
Each automobile with a rotary engine shall be classified according to its nominal engine capacity calculated in accordance with NCR 13:
Example – 2 litre turbo charged spark ignition engine is 2000cc x 1.7, i.e. 3400cc.
17. AWARDS Awards in the form of trophies and prize money to a minimum of the amount prescribed in the Australian Hillclimb Championship Sporting Regulations will be presented to successful competitors. Final allocation of trophies and prize money will be notified to competitors in the event Further Regulations. The CAMS Australian Hillclimb Champion will be awarded as per the Australian Hillclimb Championship Sporting Regulations.
18. IDENTIFICATION All competing vehicles are required to carry the CAMS logo decal as per Article 2 of the Australian Hillclimb Championship Standing Regulations and Schedule K ‘General Requirements for Cars and Drivers’. All competing vehicles, with the exception of 5th Category Historic Cars, may be required to carry The Event identification details.
19. COMPETITION NUMBERS Competitors preferred numbers will be issued where possible. In the event of two or more drivers requesting the same number, the first entry received with the nominated number will be allocated that number, and other competitors will be notified of a change in number, with the exception that the current CAMS Australian Hillclimb Champion will be reserved the number 1. Numbers must be clearly displayed on both sides of the vehicle. Competitors must supply their own numbers.
20. RE-RUNS Re-runs will only be permitted as per Article 12 of the Australian Hillclimb Championship Sporting Regulations.
21. TRACK CONFIGURATION This event will be conducted on the Clockwise Track configuration, over a distance of approximately 1.25 kilometres.
22. USE OF THE TRACK FOR PRACTICE. The track will be available for unofficial practice on Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The timing may operate (for testing purposes only) during this practice period.
23. COMPETING CARS Competing cars must be kept in the paddock area each day during the running of the meeting (thus must not leave the property). Competitors’ trailers must be parked in the designated areas, and must not be parked in spectator areas. All competitors should enter the circuit by the gate marked Competitors.
24. ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES Notification of the acceptance of entry will be forwarded to all competitors. The notification of acceptance will include any additional information necessary for competitors, and will also include a vehicle pass and spectator passes for the Spectator Car Park.
25. RESULTS Results will be available on the Gippsland Car Club website www.gippslandcarclub.com.au in the week following the event, can be emailed to you, or posted by conventional mail. Please indicate on the entry form the manner in which you would like to receive the results.
26. CAMPING ON SITE Strictly limited camping is available on site – this will only be for camper vans that are used as tow vehicles for race cars. Tents and caravans are not allowed. Please contact the Secretary in regard to camping at the track.
27 LOCK UP GARAGES Fifteen lock-up garages are available for hire at a cost of $275 per garage. Garages will be allocated on a first come basis. The cost of the hire must be included with the entry fee for the event. A refund in full will be made when a competitor does not secure a garage.
28. SECURITY Security WILL be provided all night on Thursday, October 27, Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, 2016.
29. AUSTRALIAN HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP MERCHANDISE Event merchandise (polo shirts) will be available for sale to competitors and others. An order form for such merchandise is attached.
SOCIAL FUNCTIONS An informal barbeque will be held in the Clubrooms following practice on Friday, October 28, 2016. A social function will be held at the nearby Yallourn Golf Club on Saturday evening, October 29, 2016 – this function will feature an all you can eat two course smorgasbord for $35 per head (children $15).
