We thank you for your interest in our Ljubljana scholarship programme.

VUB offers scholarships of 5000 euro for tuition fees and/or a compensation of part of the living expenses to international students who enroll in one of the selected international Master programmes. We have one year and two year programmes. General criteria for selection are excellence and motivation. Faculties may have additional criteria.

The total amount of scholarships is 5. There is one extra scholarship the masters Applied Science and Engineering: Computer Science sciences specialization Software engineering (5+1 scholarship).

Only candidates of the highest achievement or motivation relevant to the programme may receive a scholarship from the VUB. To enable us to decide upon your request to be granted a scholarship, please provide us the following information. Only Students from the University of Ljubljana who have finished their BA degree and meet the admission criteria of the programme are eligible.

Attached to this letter you will also find the General VUB Application Package + the Merit scholarship application, of which the forms have to be duly completed according to the requirements.

Application deadline: 15th of February (for enrollment next September)

Application forms and letters should be submitted to Ms Katja Cerjak of the international office of the University of Ljubljana before 15th of February.

The VUB is looking for talented high potential students with a focused interest in a specific field of study as well as an interest and maturity to study abroad. Therefore the University of Ljubljana will make a selection among the candidates and present the completed application files of the 20 most eligible candidates together with the Scholarship application to the VUB international office to Annelies Moelans () before the 1 of March, 2011.

The Scholarship committee (chaired by the Vice Rector Internationalisation) will decide which 6 candidates from the shortlist will receive a scholarship. This committee will also choose 4 alternate candidates. In the event one of the 6 chosen candidates declines the scholarship the committee will choose one of the 4 alternate candidates.

The admission board of the chosen programme will decide whether the 6 candidates are eligible for admission.

The candidates may be interviewed (by telephone) or otherwise examined with regards of their eligibility by the VUB Ljubljana Scholarship Committee.

The University of Ljubljana and the selected candidates will be informed soon after the VUB Scholarship Committee meeting which will be held in April 2011.

The letter of Admission has to be presented at the Registrar’s Office in order to enroll at the University.
