RISING STAR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
2016

The Broward County Women Lawyers’ Association (“BCWLA”) is the local Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (“FAWL”). We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2016“BCWLA Rising Star Scholarship Award!”

BCWLA (in partnership with Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center) has historically awarded between $5,000 and$10,000 in scholarship money.

This special scholarship will be presented to a 2d or 3d year law student (femaleor male) of NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center who exemplifies the ideals of an individual who can strike the perfect balance between their legal studies, legal practice or current career(if applicable), legal community involvement, civic involvement and familial relationships. The Nominee should be committed to the community, women’s issues, the legal profession, school involvement,family priorities, and extracurricular activities.

Interviews will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016

The Rising Star Award will be presented to the recipient at BCWLA’sAnnual Administrative Professionals’ DayLuncheon on: April 27, 2016. Venue to be announced.

Please note that by submitting your application, you may be contacted by a member of the BCWLA’s Award Selection Committee, and you authorize that Committee member to contact persons you have identified in your application to discuss your qualifications. You may be called for a personal interview, if the Committee sees fit. Please make sure you completely answer all of the questions on the following pages. Incomplete applications will not be considered. You must be available for an interview on the date provided above or your application will not be considered.
