Agenda

Call to Order by Steve Higgins @ 6:30 p.m.

Approval of March 16, 2016 minutes. Minutes were approved as amended;Tom Deland made the motion, seconded by Cory Amend. Passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: Bob Davis gave the report. Our cash flow is in good shape. We have enough cash to get through the next billing cycle. Gerry Johnson is behind on his dues and will be sent a letter by Steve Higgins asking for his resignation.

Bingo Report: John O’Hayre gave the report. We have about $4,882 for distribution. This past quarter we have given the Foundation ~$17,000 for distribution up from ~$11,000 the last quarter in 2015.

Membership: Lou Ann Dixon reported that RI no longer supports the R-85 designation. It is up to the individual club and district how they want to maintain that membership level. It was decided we will continue as we have in the past. To qualify for R-85 a person’s age plus number of years in Rotary must equal 85. Our R-85 members continue to pay their Rotary dues but only pay for meals when they attend. They are counted on our books as Rotarians and we pay RI for them. RI is also phasing out recognition of perfect attendance and allows individual clubs and districts to decide if a member will be recognized.

Music In The Park:Report given by Clayton Shearer. The date is June 18, 2016 and will be held at the Broomfield Commons. The marketing materials for the event will be available in late April or early May. FISH & Broomfield Early Childhood Development will be the benefactors of the event. There was a discussion about food vendors and decided that food will cost $9. All food and beer purchases will go through our table and tickets given to the individual vendors. We are not charging the food vendor for attending but will make our money on the upcharge of food sold. The entertainment will be the same as last year.

New Generations Committee Update:Report given by Bob Hoyle. Interviews will be held for the slots the last weekend in April. Bob Hoyle brought up the idea of having RYLA attendees be part of other club activities. It was not decided if that is feasible. We could add them to our website as “friends” of Broomfield Rotary. Members can support a student if they want in addition to our club sponsored youth.

ARC pickup is usually done in April. Steve Higgins will contact Tom Mahoney for further information.

Golf Tournament Update:Report given by Tom Deland. At this time we have ~$41,000 committed monies. Most website issues for registration have been resolved. We still need more golfers to sign up. We will have free beer on each 9 holes plus great raffle prizes.

Bike Program: At this time we may not include a bike rodeo or bike program to be part of Music in the Park. There is some confusion on how to proceed and how to give out the bikes.

Record Keeping: The club needs to develop a more systematic way to archive our records. Lou Ann Dixon, Bob Hoyle and Tom Gaines will meet and discuss the needs and report back.

Ostillation: The date for Ostillation is usually the last Thursday in June. We must decide on the location for the event. At the next board meeting we need to discuss possible awards.

Meeting adjourned @ 7:40 p.m.
