Job Title:Café Co-ordinator

Hours:27.5 hrs a week

Starting Salary: Pt 11 – 16,635 pro rata including London Weighting

Accountable to:Home Start Business Manager/ Brookhill Centre Manager

1. Job Summary

The Café Co-ordinator will run the Café at Brookhill Children’s Centre, which will provide high quality, affordable, healthy food to the wide variety of visitors in a friendly, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Specific Duties

2. Food Preparation & Service

2.1 Finish the food preparation for the lunch counter

2.2 Prepare salads and sandwiches for the lunch counter

2.3 Prepare catering for events and bookings

2.4 Prepare counter for daily service

2.5 Make suggestions for menu items to the Centre Manager

2.6. Prepare orders for the café & kitchen including disposables, cleaning materials and food. Using the designated supplier lists.

3. Financial

3.1 Cashing Up. Comply with all cashing up procedures, report and resolve any anomalies.

3.2 Comply with all financial and other security procedures.

3.3 Complete a monthly stock take and record it on stock sheets

4.Cleaning

4.1 Comply with the cleaning schedule for the café counter and seating area and kitchen and ensure the café is kept clean throughout the day.

5. Service

5.1 Ensure that all customers that use the café are treated cordially and as valued visitors to the cafe

5.2. Carry out customer questionnaires and surveys to monitor customer satisfaction and need.

5. 3 Deal with all customer care enquiries and complaints.

4.4 Ensure the point of sale marketing is well presented and current.

6. Health & Safety

6.1 Complete temperature checks.

6. 2 Comply with the Brookhill Children’s Centres Health & Safety Policy and licensing requirements.

6.3 Comply with any additional Health and Safety procedures, such as ensuring allergen information is clearly displayed.

7. Meetings

7.1 Attend regular café meetings with the Centre Manager to ensure systems are running smoothly and plan for forthcoming events.

7.2 Attend staff meetings, and ensure knowledge of Brookhill weekly diary and occupancy.

8. Training

8.1 Attend training as required.

8.2 Deliver training when required to new or temporary staff

9. Other

9.1 Support Brookhill at events that promote the work of the building where necessary.

9.2 Perform other duties as required by BrookhillCC / Home Start

9.3 Write reports or proposals where required by BrookhillCC / Home Start

9.4 Operate within Home Starts Equal Opportunities Policy

9.5 Act as lead to the small kitchen team of 1 or 2 staff.
