Job:Cleaner
Reporting to:Front of House Manager
Responsible for:Front of House Volunteer Hosts & Cleaners
Term:Variable Hours
Purpose of Post
To clean all areas of the Broadway, including public and back stage areas, the main auditorium, the Performing Arts School located within the building, all toilets, etc., ready for each day in a building open to students, staff, participants, the general public and other stakeholders.
Principal Responsibilities
- Arrive for work at the hours agreed with the Front of House Manager.
- Carry out all cleaning duties as allocated by the Front of House Manager.
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the building, especially but not limited to those used by the public.
- Be responsible for the care and condition of the Theatre’s cleaning equipment and to report and failures or servicing needs immediately to the Front of House Manager.
- Be aware of the condition of carpets, upholstery and all other surfaces throughout the building, particularly with regard to the health and safety of the public and the staff, and to report and damage, wear and tear, or repair needs immediately to the Front of House Manager
General Responsibilities
- Undertake training as required.
- Be aware of, and to adhere to and uphold BDC @ Broadway’s policies
- Act as a key holder for the building
- To undertake other tasks as may be reasonably required by the front of House Manager and the Senior Management team.
Communications
• Communicate effectively with the Broadway team, especially the Front of House Manager, and make them aware of any potential issues including staffing rota’s, stock, H&S and equipment maintenance.
Health and Safety
- Ensure all operations are carried out within the relevant Health and Safety legislation and that staff work within the Broadways and BDC’s Health and Safety policy.
*Regular opening hours of the Broadwaywill be from 9am until 11pm seven days a week, with later opening on occasions, although this may be subject to change
