3. PACT Meeting – UPDATES

3.1 SS and DC introduced the group and explained what PACT meetings and PSPs are. He apologised for the lack of attendees in previous PACT meetings.

3.2 DC raised Fay Ellington’s issue about Eurostar despatch delivery drivers being turned away and coaches arriving early and blocking the bays.

ACTION Brian Lynch/Lucy McAuliffe to speak to Fay Ellington

3.3 NR raised the issue about bikes being left unattended around the station on the outside causing a security risk.

ACTION SS to get a contact within Camden Council to remove bikes from outside railings and joint signage – and speak to Lucy McAuliffe.

3.4 Marks and Spencer PSP has now been closed.

The Circle Area / Closed: Starbucks raised the issue that there is a security risk not just to Starbucks but to the station with passengers coming into the station during the night/early morning when there is a lack of NR staff and BTP officers.
Guiseppe is happy with the BTP response time, it’s the prevention that is the issue and that NR staff are not visible in the station in the early morning, before 6am. / SS

WH Smiths / Closed: WH Smith had a problem with local school children were coming into the store and stealing sweets. / SS

5. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

5.1 The group spoke about homeless people coming into the station (especially Pauls and Starbucks) between 4am – 6am

ACTION DC to raise homeless people coming into the station at night as a PSP

ACTION SS/JB to speak to night-turn Hub Road officers to carry both the Shopwatch radio and Shopwatch mobile phone

5.2 The Grand spoke about the recent theft from their office. Locks have now been changed.

ACTION DC to circulate the photo of the suspect to Met. Police and Kings Cross/Euston BTP.

5.3  Alwyn Hurlock mentioned there had been thefts at 2012 shop

ACTION DC to speak to 2012 shop manager

5.4  Hamleys requested ‘Staff Awareness’ training.

5.5  Jonathan Barker spoke about the Women of the Well and hoped retailers would donate food.

5.6  Carluccios spoke about Big Issue Sellers approaching customers. They are not allowed on the station.

6.1 The group agreed the best to contact them for invites etc is via email.

6.2 East Midlands happy with the way BTP dealt with an abusive passenger who made racial comments to a member of staff – positive outsome.
