1 PURPOSE
1.1 The purpose of this document is to define the processes for the proposal, development, production, delivery, and review, of RQA Training Products.
2 SCOPE
2.1 This guidance applies to all training products that are intended to be offered for sale.
3 DEFINITIONS
3.1 Training product: all RQA products related to training as defined in the scope of this guidance.
3.2 Training product life-cycle: the entire process for the proposal, project approval, material production, material approval, delivery, periodic review, update/revision and withdrawal of training products.
3.3 eLearning: learning utilising electronic technologies to access an educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom. In most cases, it refers to products delivered online via the Internet.
3.4 Face to Face training: training delivered in-person classroom style where the trainer and the learner are physically in the same location.
3.5 Podcast: a form of digital media that consists of digital audio files downloaded or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.
3.6 Seminar: a meeting or discussion for the exchange of information on a defined topic; typically a one-off small event.
3.7 Training Booklet: a targeted training product in electronic or hard-copy presentation with a standardised RQA format on a topic.
3.8 Webcast: a form of digital media that consists of digital video files downloaded or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.
3.9 Webinars: a live online presentation during which participating viewers can submit questions and comments, a virtual seminar.
4 RESPONSIBILITIES
Training products for RQA may be proposed, developed, delivered and maintained by any member of the Association or invited external presenters, until their withdrawal.
4.1 Originator:
4.1.1 Completes and submits the Training Product Specification Form [TPSF].
4.1.2 Has overall responsibility for the technical content, development and maintenance of the training product over its lifecycle.
4.1.3 Informs the RQA Office on the progress of the development of the training product to ensure the Product Progression Spreadsheet is kept up-to-date at all times.
4.1.4 Ensures course learning outcomes are relevant and accurate.
4.2 Director of Operations / RQA Office:
4.2.1 Commissions new courses
4.2.2 Approves defined learning outcomes, course material and finished courses
4.2.3 Appoints subject matter experts, reviewers and course tutors
4.2.4 Approves courses for marketing
4.2.5 Manages administration in relation to the proposal, development, production, delivery, and review, of training products
4.2.6 Grants budget approval of the training products
4.2.7 Maintains a log of all training products on a database
4.2.8 Maintains and promotes advertising
4.2.9 Ensures production, sale and distribution of the training products
4.2.10 Monitors costs versus budget of each training product
4.2.11 Coordinates and manages contractual agreements with originators and Course Principals
4.3 Course Principal/Tutor:
4.3.1 Delivers materials in accordance with the approved course objectives, materials and schedule as described in the Training Product Specification Form and reviewed approved product.
