Joint NIHR/BAD Research Taster/Visit Bursary

Application conditions:

1)The NIHR/BAD Research Taster/Visit Bursary is to enable someone who is thinking about doing translational dermatology research or somebody at a relatively early stage of their research career to visit a research department to get a taste of research in that department or to initiate further research collaborations.

2)The location of the research centre need not be limited to the UK, and the type of research can range from basic science to health services research.

3)The visit must take place after the deadline and applications must be made in advance of the visit. Retrospective applications will not be considered.

4)Up to £500 will be available for each award and up to six awards will be available for 2015.

5)Applicants should be resident in the UK and working in a recognised clinical or non-clinical training programme.

6)Applicants must electronically submit a) a completed application form; b) a cover letter explaining where you would like to visit, what you plan to do there and how visiting the research department will benefit you; c) an estimate of associated costs (up to £500 maximum); d) letter of support from your research or clinical supervisor; e) a letter of support from the host Institution; f) a copy of their CV

7)Applications not containing the correct paperwork as detailed in 6) above will not be accepted.

10)Bursary winners must submit one A4 page report of their attendance as well as any travel receipts associated with the visit within a month of completion to Cath Thums ()4 Fitzroy Square, London, W1T 5HQ). Please note that 15% of the award will be withheld until the final report and receipts are received.All reports will be added to the relevant section of the BAD website and the best reports will be also considered for publication in the BAD Newsletter.
