About our speakers

Conrad Mwanzais the founder of Zimbabwe Achievers Awards, a platform that celebrates and recognises Zimbabweans around the world who are making positive contributions in the communities they live in. Conrad is also a publisher of Zim Abroad Magazine, a progressive, non-partisan and apolitical publication which features Zimbabwean communities abroad.

Pat Brickhillhas a lifelong connection with books. Together with Paul Brickhill she was co-founder of Grassroots Books which later became the celebrated Book Café in Harare. After working as co-ordinator on the Journal for Social Development and the Women Artists Diary, she was Events Coordinator for the Zimbabwe International Book Fair. During her time in the UK Pat has worked on the memoirs of two Zimbabwean women, Diana Mitchell and Stella Madzimbamuto and has had four stories published in anthologies in Zimbabwe, first by Weaver Press and most recently by amaBooks. Although currently living in the UK, Zimbabwe remains her home and her inspiration.

MarcellinaChikasha, the President of the African Democratic Party (ADP), is the first woman to lead a political party in Zimbabwe. She was also the first to Chair a grouping of political parties fighting for electoral reforms called National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA). She currently sits as Vice-Chairperson of ZiNERA (a broader grouping of opposition parties) and as the Chairperson of ZiNERA's Women's Committee. She is the founder of Tavavanhu Youth Organisation and Kuyamura Foundation among other projects. Marcellina is an alumna of the British Interaction Leadership Programme. She was also selected by the British Council to be the Zimbabwean Representative at a workshop for climate change in Tanzania. This led to her undertaking some climate change initiatives in Zimbabwe including the formation of the citizens grouping, Green Zimbos. An accountant by training, Marcellina is passionate about leadership and her focus is on leadership with integrity.
