Purpose
Your organisation is seeking Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace (BFW) accreditation through the Australian Breastfeeding Association's BFW Program. As part of the accreditation process workplaces are required to complete acomprehensive list of all workplaces that make up your organisation.
Guidelines for completing the List of Sites & Facilities
- The list is broken into two parts: sites with an existing breastfeeding/expressing facility and sites that do not have facilities at this time.
- It is a requirement that all sites covered by your organisation are listed regardless of the number of staff or gender breakdown at the individual site.
- Insert additional lines as required until all sites and breastfeeding/expressing facilities are recorded. Each line is numbered for easy identification of sites/rooms, numbering should follow on from the first table to the second rather than restarting in the second table.
- For sites in the second table (those that do not have a breastfeeding/expressing room in place at present) please use the ‘additional information’ column to indicate how one will be made available, or alternative ways that a breastfeeding employee will be supported, should the need arise.

* Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace Accreditation covers whole of organisation and all employees.
It is recognised some worksites at time of initial accreditation may not need dedicated or shared room breastfeeding/expressing facilities due low numbers of employees, few female staff or other reasons. However, employee and workplace numbers, conditions and requirements over time do change. By applying for accreditation as a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace you are stating that should the need arise for a private space for a breastfeeding employee after accreditation is gained every reasonableendeavour will be made to either:
- Provide a dedicated or shared breastfeeding/expressing room at the relevant worksite
- Make arrangements for the use of a suitable private space (such as an office/meeting room)
- Temporarily relocate employee to a worksite with suitable facilities
- Make reasonable allowances for the employee to travel off-site to child/or another suitable location to breastfeed/express
- Make other reasonable flexible work arrangements (work from home/reduced hours etc)
- Contact the BFW Team so that our consultants can help assist you to put in place a reasonable workable option for your breastfeeding employees.
