Role Title: / Marketing Manager
Reports to (title): / General Manager
Contract: / Full Time – 40hrs per week - Permanent

Working day: / Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm (inclusive of 1 hour breaktime)
Salary: / £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Role Purpose
To develop and implement marketing and PR strategies and activities for all sectors of the business.
Key Accountabilities
1 / Work closely with the stakeholders of the key market sectors to propose exciting, innovative and effective marketing and PR plans
2 / Work closely with external marketing, advertising and PR agencies to create and fulfill individual business sector initiatives
3 / Work closely with the company’s sales team members, managers and directors to ensure marketing and PR plans are in accordance with the company’s sales objectives and targets
4 / Maximise the use of the company’s existing CRM system and investigate/propose improvements/enhancements
5 / Market research and benchmark the target markets and analyse company products in relation to sales targets and achievements
6 / Propose new, innovative marketing and PR related initiatives embracing social media platforms and opportunities
7 / Develop bespoke marketing and PR programmes for specific sales events
8 / Ensure all marketing materials and PR initiatives observe and adhere to LEGO guidelines and regulations
9 / Liaise with the Director responsible for the overall PR of the company
10 / Prepare engaging, appropriate and relevant copy for all marketing collateral and PR Campaigns/Initiatives and present to Director for final approval
11 / Review marketing and PR plans against targets on a monthly basis and submit report to the Management Meeting
12 / Effectively manage budget allocation
Decision Making and Influence
  • Required to make decisions within remit referring to the Directors on out of scope decisions.
  • Objectives are set by the Directors and are reviewed on a monthly basis.
  • Use a range of recognised methods whilst showing initiative and creativity.
  • Plan own work schedule to meet deadlineswith minimal supervision.
  • Role requires liaison with in-house teams also managing relationships and ensuring delivery with outside agencies to complete the activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Essential / Desirable
1 / Excellent interpersonal, presentation (articulate, confident speaker) and communication skills (written and verbal). / 1 / Previous experience in a similar role.
2 / Ability to plan, prioritise, implement and monitor outputs to meet project deadlines.
3 / Sound and strong understanding of marketing and PR principles and clear ability to transpose these to the industry
4 / Ability to cope with responsibility and remain calm under pressure
5 / Highly creative and innovative
6 / Able to effectively and convincingly propose and communicate new initiatives
7 / Attention to detail, with a “can do” attitude to problem solving
8 / Current knowledge and experience of all e-marketing/PR methods and opportunities
General Responsibilities
  • To attend all training and meetings as requested.
  • Adhere to all the company’s policies and procedures.

  • 20 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays. Holiday entitlement increases 1 day per annum for every full year of service. Maximum of 25 days.
  • Overtime higher rate payment – if required.

  • The role is based at the Bordon office (GU35 9QF).
  • Job holder will be required to be flexible to meet with project deadlines.
  • Job holder may be required to support other functional activities in support of project initiation and completion.
  • Role holder has responsibility for the delivery of marketing and PR initiatives to meet objectives as set down.
  • Job holder will need to have a valid DBS check as the role may involve interaction with children and vulnerable adults. Bright Bricks will support the job holder in the application process.
