MAGIC Sustainability questions

BRIEF REFLECTIVE FEEDBACK

As we enter the final few months of the MAGIC programme and reflect on our achievements, we need to explore the priorities for the remainder of the programme and the level of sustainability of the changes made.

This series of questions has been designed to help your team to think about this. There are three fundamental questions, and some further prompts that may guide your discussions. At the end of this form there is space for you to record your outline plan for remaining months of the programme.

Please use this form instead of the Brief Reflective Feedback Tool (BRFT) from October 2011

Key questions:

  1. What are you main priorities in the remainder of the programme?
  2. What do you as a team need to do to sustain the work you have done and further embed shared decision making?
  3. How will you/your team do this?

These questions may help to guide your discussions:

1.Does your team have regular MAGIC team meetings?

  • If yes - how frequently? Are they useful? Who attends?
  • If no - do you think they would be useful if they were in place?

2. Does practicing shared decision making add value to your working day?

  • If yes - in what way?
  • If no - can you give reasons?

3.Do you think all of your colleagues that could do, have attended a shared decision making extended skills workshop?

4.How can you/the core MAGIC team engage those who have not yet attended?

5.Has your team created any PDSA templates to record your progress?

  • If yes - did you find this helpful? In what way? Do you think you might do anymore?
  • If no - do you need support to do this? Do you prefer not to do PDSA records? If not, why?

6.Have you been involved in organising or deliveringintroductory talks/workshops about shared decision making?

  • If yes - please describe (dates, numbers attending, job roles)
  • If no - is this something you plan/would like to do in the future? Could you do this with more support from the core team?

7.Have you been involved in organising or deliveringextended skills workshops?

  • If yes - please describe (dates, numbers attending, job roles)
  • If no - is this something you plan/would like to do in the future? Could you do this with more support from the core team?

8.If the MAGIC Team withdrew tomorrow, what elements of shared decision making do you think would be sustained?

9.What can the MAGIC team do to help you make/sustain these changes?
