BrewDog Invites Danes to Become Equity Punks as The Holy Moose beckons them to Scandinavia

BrewDoghas today revealed how ‘the Holy Moose’ persuaded its cofounders to travel to Scandinavia and invite thecraft beer drinkers of Denmark to become part of theirsuccessful brewery business. A film - ‘The Holy Moose’ - and an accompanying beer brewed for Denmark and its neighbouring countries marks BrewDog’ssearch for Scandinavian investors.

The surreal film, which can be viewed on BrewDog’s website and blog, features a ‘holy moose’ visiting the cofounders in a dream and beckoning them to travel to Scandinavia in order to save its people from bad beer. This quest culminates in a battle between BrewDog, the Norwegians, Danes, Finns and Swedes as they all attempt to lay claim to the Holy Moose.

A beer named “Hello, My Name is Holy Moose” will be unveiled this week to give potential investors a taste of what’s to come. The beer is a 5.5% IPA infused with sea buckthorn, cloudberries, blueberries and lingonberries. The berries selected infused the famed Hello My Name is… series of beers, which included “Hello, My name is MetteMarit” for Norway, “Hello, My Name is Ingrid” for Sweden and “Hello,My Name is Päivi” for Finland. The Holy Moose is hopped with Citra, Bramling Cross, Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe, and will launch on BrewDog’s online shop this week. In 2010 BrewDog tore up convention and turned the traditional business model on its head. It launched Equity for Punks and, over three rounds of funding, recruited 14,500 investors who have powered the company’s growth in recent years. BrewDog is currently running its fourth round of equity fundraising via Equity for Punks IV, and has made 526,316 shares available for investors. The minimum investment is two shares - 95 GBP. Equity Punks get invited to the AGM, a soon-to-be-legendary beer, music, food and business talks event, discounts in the online store and bars, access to an exclusive online forum, £10 beer bucks to spend in a BrewDog bar, and the chance to get involved with BottleBox beer club and the Beatnik brew day.

Potential investors should read the Equity for Punks prospectus found here.

BrewDog exports to 55 countries worldwide and a significant portion of export sales are accounted for by Scandinavian countries. Furthermore, BrewDog has launched three bars in Sweden, one in Norway and one in Finland and more planned on the horizon. To further grow this footprint outside the UK and expand the horizons of better beer, BrewDog is seeking investment from across Scandinavia to rally more investors to join its Equity Punk ranks and reap the rewards.

“The capital raised from equity for punks will be invested in a larger brewery adjacent to our current brewery in Ellon, which will enable us to increase capacity, open a distillation plant and utilise more environmental friendly technologies. The funds generated will also be used to expand our successful BrewDog bars both in the UK and internationally where we continue to champion craft beer.” said James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog

“Equity for Punks IV is our chance to invite craft beer lovers across the world to passionately support our revolution against bland, tasteless beer, and The Holy Moose has beckoned us to Scandinavia to seek the support of its beer-loving people. We love Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, and are excited to have the potential to have so many beautiful craft beer drinkers at our next AGM” said James Watt.

What is BrewDog?

We were bored of the industrially brewed lagers and stuffy ales that dominate the UK market. We decided the best way to fix this undesirable predicament was to brew our own beers. Consequently in April 2007 BrewDog was born. Both only 24 at the time, we leased a building, got some scary bank loans, spent all our money on stainless steel and started making some hard-core beers. We are dedicated to making cool, contemporary and progressive beers showcasing some of the world’s classic beer styles. All with an innovative twist and customary BrewDog bite.
