RE: HMH pricing for an IIS

Matt

I appreciate the difficult place you are in, attempting to identify a ball park figure for what the district can anticipate spending on its IIS/LMS system. As you know, our proposal is much more than a simple installation of a system CAPABLE of performing many functions, but our solution is for an operational system already populated and performing the services necessary for student-centered, data-driven instruction. So while your board may be contemplating dollars to be set aside for an IIS/LMS, the district is likely to find that funding and resources that might have been set aside separately for professional development, curriculum and assessment purchase or development, and parent outreach can be more efficiently and effectively deployed within the HMH proposal.

A project of this nature typically includes many individual modules including but not limited to professional development, curriculum mapping & design, assessment, data warehousing. These modules range in price from $5.00 to $8.00 per student per year. A data project of this magnitude for Brevard County will include a least two modules and provide Brevard with a Curriculum Repository that will house all curriculum recourses, standards, assessments and scoring, a test item data bank, and reporting capabilities that will include the ability for ‘prescriptive’ diagnostic reports, and our Analytics system which allows for disaggregation of data on all levels when integrated into your current data systems for a district with approximately 70,000 students and 4500 teachers.

In addition you will need to consider hardware costs, support services (roughly 10% of the total costs), professional development ($90,000 to $150,000) and any custom development or integration with other systems as part of your overall cost structure.

Please be aware that all costs here are estimates. These costs can and probably will change once we have the opportunity to perform a needs assessment and analysis for the final requirements as set forth by the FLDOE.

Once again thank you for your consideration. We look forward to working with you on this exciting project.
