Scholarship Requirements
Overview:
The following guidelines were established to cover the annual scholarships to be presented by the Brazos Athletic Booster Club. All criteria and deadlines will be strictly adhered to in order to provide a consistent evaluation process.
Award:
The Brazos Athletic Booster Club will consider scholarships for all seniors meeting the established criteria. The amount awarded will be based on funds raised for scholarship purposes and will be distributed evenly among all those applicants who qualify, with the maximum available per student being $500.
Criteria- The applicant must:
1. Be a senior student at Brazos High School.
2. Be a four year participant in BHS athletics and
recommended by A.D.
3. Have plans to obtain college or vocational degree
4. Have maintained a 70 plus average during senior year
5. Completed an essay of a minimum of 200 words on the topic specified on the application form and be turned in with the application.
6. Belong to at least one parent/guardian that has maintained active membership in the Brazos Athletic Booster Club including:
a.) Having paid the Annual Dues and
b.) Having volunteered at a minimum for concession stand duty once per school year during the athlete’s high school participation.
The Deadline for the completed application is May 1st. All completed applications must be turned into the Brazos High School Counselor, Rebecca Aschenbeck. No applications will be accepted after thisdate.
All scholarship winners will be responsible for showing proof of enrollment or a canceled check made out to a college or vocations school no later than one year from the date of graduation to receive the award.
