Brandi Fontaine

Coach Brandi Fontaine serves PTFC in several roles, including Assistant Director of Coaching for ages U13/U14, Head Coach of the PTFC 99 Lady Black, and Assistant Coach for the PTFC 97 Lady Black. These positions are held in addition to her primary role as Associate Head Coach for High Point University’s Women’s Soccer team and HPU’s Women’s Soccer Recruiting Coordinator.

Under Coach Fontaine, the PTFC 99 Lady Black are the back-to-back Spring and Fall 2014 NC State Cup Champions, finishing as Semi-finalists in the 2014 USYSA Region 3 Tournament and Quarter-finalists in 2015. They have competed with much success in the highly competitive Region 3 Premier League East in the Spring and Fall of 2014, and will compete there again in the Fall of 2015. Coach Fontaine’s team has also experienced a great deal of success in tournament play, finishing as Champions in the 2012 Capital Fall Classic, 2013 Jefferson Cup, 2013 CASL Shootout, 2013 Greensboro Labor Day Tournament, and 2013 Furniture City Classic. More recently, they have taken part in a number of prestigious Showcase tournaments, including the 2014 CASL Showcase, 2014 Disney Showcase, 2015 Jefferson Cup Showcase and 2015 Southern Showcase.

Coach Fontaine is heading into her 7th season with High Point University. Since joining the university’s coaching staff, HPU has won two Big South Regular Season Championships, three Big South Tournament Championships and made three appearances in the NCAA Tournament in six seasons.

Coach Fontaine began her collegiate playing career at West Virginia University in 2003, playing for a squad that finished 15-6-0 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She then transferred and played her final 3 years (2005-2007) at Francis Marion University under Marty Beall, current Head Coach for High Point University. During her playing career, Coach Fontaine played in 33 career matches with 20 starts, recording three goals and 11 assists, was team captain during her senior season, and ranked in the top 25 in the nation in assists as a junior.

Off the field, Coach Fontaine’s accomplishments were equally impressive, earning the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll and FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll recognition for three consecutive years while at Francis Marion University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Francis Marion in December of 2007 and a Master of Science degree in Sports Management in 2009.

A native of Davidsonville, Maryland she was a three sport athlete at South River High School, playing soccer, basketball, and softball. While at South River, she earned 2002 first-team All-State, All-Region and All-South accolades in soccer, finishing her high school career with 24 goals and 28 assists. She was also a member of the Crofton United club team.

Coach Fontaine holds an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.

She is married to Keith Fontaine and has a 3 year old son, Kaden.
