JUNIOR CAMP

Tuesday 29nd August – Thursday 31st August 2017

Venue:- South of England Centre, The Showground, Ardingly, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH17 6TL

Arrival:- 8.30am ready to ride at 10am.

Parents/Members:- Each child must have a responsible adult in attendance during camp, including overnight. One adult may cover 2 children.

Ponies:- Make sure if shod that shoes are in good condition.

Ensure vaccinations are up to date and bring passport and vaccination record with you on the first day forchecking.

Bring a hay for your pony to eat.

Bring a bucket for water & one for keeping your pony clean. Each stable block has a tap.

Grooming kit

Tools for mucking out, all beds are shavings. NB there is no turnout available.

Tack cleaning kit.

Headcollar & lead rope.

For You:-

Bedding - duvet & sheet or sleeping bag, pillows.

Washing gear/towels. There are good shower facilities.

Casual clothes for the evening.

Pony Club sweatshirt, white long sleeved shirts & tie.

Jodhpur boots and jod clips/plain half chaps or gaiters/long riding boots – no heavy soles.

Jodhpurs - beige, canary, white, black, brown or navy.

Helmet/skull cap to current Pony Club Standard. If buying a new hat remember to get it tagged at a rally before camp.Mustwear a hat without a rigid peak or no peak for cross country.

Hair nets, scrunchies/bands.

Gloves.

Body Protector (essential if doing cross country)

Sun screen & hat / Wet weather gear!

Pushbike - As the stables are a short distance from the Rank Lodge the older children will all have their pushbikes withthem, Juniors (& parents?) may also like to bring their bikes with them.

Water Pistol – we may have an organised water fight on tues evening!

No gameboysetc please.

Tack:- Please check all tack in plenty of time before camp and have any bad stitching repaired, especially stirrup leathers and girth straps. Ask someone to check your bridle and saddle are fitted correctly. We want you pony to be comfortable and if something is wrong when you arrive you will miss out on time at camp trying to sort it out.

Equipment:- You are responsible for all your own clothing, personal equipment, saddlery and horse equipment. Please have EVERYTHING clearly marked with your name.

Jewellery:- For safety NO jewellery, including sleepers, may be worn.

Snacks:- Squash and biscuits will be provided.
