(adapted from Braille Drawings by Edith West -birthday cake design)

Create your own braille drawings. Designed by Debbie Siegel.

This simple drawing of the capital letter H has only straight lines.

  • Start on line 3
  • Row 1: Space 3 times, make a full cell. Space 4 times. Make a full cell.
  • Row 2: Space 3 times, make a full cell. Space 4 times. Make a full cell.
  • Row 3: Space 3 times, make a full cell 6 times
  • Row 4: Space 3 times, make a full cell. Space 4 times. Make a full cell.
  • Row 5: Space 3 times, make a full cell. Space 4 times. Make a full cell.

The lower case letterh has curves.

  • Start on line 3
  • Row 1: Space 3 times, make the letter l
  • Row 2: Space 3 times, make the letter l
  • Row 3: Space 3 times, make the letter l
  • Row 4: Space 3 times, make the letter s. Make the letter c two times. Make the wh sign (dots 156).
  • Row 5: Space 3 times. Make the letter l. Space two times. Make dots 456.
  • Row 6: Space 3 times. Make the letter l. Space two times. Make dots 456.

When I designed the pattern I made the upper case letter H bolder by using full cells. The lower case letter h had narrower lines so I used just half a cell, dots 123 or dots 456.
