Starburst Tutorial

By

Boy what a lot of questions I’ve had about the starburst card in my first post!

It is really beautiful and not so difficult to do. LOTs of glam for your effort.

Gather the following Supplies:

Large and Small Tag Punches

Paper snips

Whisper White or Glossy White paper 1 sheet cut into 2 equal pieces – 11”x4 ¼ “

Vellum – 2 pieces cut 4 ¼ “ square

Two-Way glue stick

Dazzling Diamonds

Rinestone brad (ice circles are what I used)

Scraps of silver cardstock and velum and a punch like

the snowflake punch.

For the Starburst you make two complete stars and then layer them with stampin’ Dimentionals following the steps shown below.

1.  Beginning with the small tag punch, punch 16 tags in the whisper white cardstock, being sure to space them out well as shown.

2.  Discard the white tags. (Or stamp them and use them for TAGS!)

3.  With the large tag punch, center and punch a thin tag outline shape. Repeat 16 times and SAVE these. They make the starburst!

4.  Using the two-way-glue pen, stick the tag outlines on the vellum as shown in the next three pictures. Notice the corners are touching, not overlapping.

5.  Once you have the first four glued on the vellum. Then you overlay the next four as shown in the photo below.

6.  The top four tag outlines are a 1/8th turn and arranged as the initial four were, with corners touching. Notice the points of the stars appearing.

7.  Repeat the above steps, 4 to 6, with the remaining tag outlines. You will then have two medallions like the ones pictured here.

8.  Cut the bottom of the tag outlines off creating the 8-pointed star.

9.  Using 2-Way glue and Dazzling Diamonds cover each star with glitter. (My friend uses Versa pad ink, Iridescent Ice and the heat gun to get her “bling”.)

10.  Now finish the construction in your unique way. I have used the snowflake punch with silver cardstock and some more vellum.

.

11.  These punched snowflakes I attached to the first star with a rhinestone brad and then sprinkled with more glitter

12.  Finally the two stars are joined with a Stampin’ Dimentional. WOW!

13.  Now all that remains is to attach your starbrust to a card or project with another Stampin’ Dimentional.

Hope you enjoyed this Tutorial.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Please share with us.

Happy Punchin’!
