A.

2 points = Student clearly describes what scenery might look like in a play about Colonial America by mentioning several items. For example…a pioneer fort, plantation or farm, settlement with outdoor cooking, livery station, blacksmith shop, etc.

1 point = Student only mentions one item in their description.

B.

1 point = Student identifies a character that has a connection to the scenery that they described. The student may list occupations, for example…farmer, blacksmith, gunsmith, soldier, plantation owner, cook, livery keeper, etc.--OR—The student may list specific characters, for example…John Smith, Pocahontas, etc.

C.

2 points = Student clearly describes a costume that might be worn by the character that they identified by mentioning several characteristics. For example… hats for men, long dresses, button-up shoes, bonnets, girls in full dresses and pantaloons, etc.

1 point = Student only mentions one characteristic in their description.
