Council President Lang opened

Council President Lang made a motion to approve previous minutes dated October 13, 2014 Councilman Haniford second then Councilman Wozniak

Guest Speakers:

Shannon McLeod came to introduce herself to Council & Town to be Boswell’s Federal Grant Writer

Kelly Kepner gave an update on the Benton County Chamber success. Kelly mentioned that Boswell should file to be a Main Street Community, because this would allow Boswell to be eligible for more grants. Boswell’s shovel site is ready. The Benton County Economic Development department is proud to announce that Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann will be traveling to Benton County on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 3:00 pm at eh Benton County’s Commissioner’s Room for the presentation of the Shovel Ready Certification to the Benton County Economic Development Department.

Police – Town Marshal, Nathan Davis, Represented

  • Weather is getting colder, keep your animals in a shelter
  • Has been seeing coyotes in town so keep your animals safe

Fire Department – Ryan Gillen, Represented

  • Boswell Fire Department Auction will be Saturday, November 29th, doors open at 3:00, auction begins at 5:00
  • Fire Department is will working at the Park to help decorate November 28th from 1-4, volunteers needed
  • Fire Department will be doing a Pancake Breakfast in honor of Boswell Alumni, April 25th, more info to come

Street/Water – Jim Turner Represented

  • Ordering Salt/Sand
  • Needs to purchase shelter for Salt/Sand

Waste Water – Travis Barrett Represented

  • School Books have been ordered, planning on taking test in January 2015 to be licensed in April 2015

Clerk’s Desk – Donna Musenbrock

  • Requested that Wastewater Sinking Fund to be closed and funds to be deposited into Wastewater’s Operating Account, Council President Lang made motion, Council Member Wozniak second, Council Member Haniford third
  • Mentioned Rate Study needs to be addressed; Council President Lang made motion, Council Member Haniford second, Council Member Wozniak third
  • Eberhardt’s said that converter for lift station has arrived and Kurt Metzinger will be contacting Travis and Ryan Gillen to get lift station working off generator
  • TV is mounted on wall thanks to Travis Barrett and Jim Turner
  • Trash will be picked up on Tuesday, November 11th (Veteran’s Day)
  • Town Hall will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th to observe Veteran’s Day
  • Volunteers are needed to help with Park Decorating on Friday, November 28th 1pm – 4pm and Saturday, November 29th beginning at 9am
  • Ordering Shed, landscaping needs to be done before installation

New Business

  • Complaints regarding the Cowboy Corner, Officer Davis stated that legally there isn’t anything he can do. Davis said from the research that he has done, in order for him to have anything done legally an ordinance would need to be revised. Council President Lang suggested that we make that section a 4 way stop in order to get people to slow down and keep people safe. Lang asked Clerk to call Kenny with INDOT to see how and what needs to be done to make that happen.
