The Assistant Director of Regeneration and Built Environment submitted for information details of planning applications in this report which he had determined under delegated authority (Minute No. 254, Planning Committee, 3rd September, 2002, confirmed by Council 24th September, 2002). The decisions are reported for your information. The plans recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Acts will be subject to the standard conditions referred to in Minute No. 208 (April 1971) of the Plans Sub-Committee, Barrow-in-Furness, County Borough Council, in addition to any conditions indicated hereunder. Applications with a (P) beside the applicant’s name denotes those applications that were reported to the Planning Panel.

RESOLVED:- (i) To note the decisions made under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) as follows:-

Town and Country Planning Acts

The Assistant Director of Regeneration and Built Environment reported on the following planning applications:-

61 – Brantano, Hindpool Retail Park, Hindpool Road, Barrow-in-Furness

From Mr C. Blatchford Retail and Warehouse Company Ltd c/o Blue Sky Planning Limited in respect of Advertisement Consent for 1 x internally illuminated fascia sign at Brantano, Hindpool Retail Park, Hindpool Road, Barrow-in-Furness as shown on plan number 2015/0249.

Representations received and the results of consultations were reported.

RESOLVED:- That Advertisement Consent be granted subject to the following conditions:-

1. The development shall be carried out and completed in all respects in accordance with the hereby approved plans and drawings shown as 11101A-808 Rev B, 11101A-812 and defined by this permission, and notwithstanding the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (or any Order revoking or re-enacting that Order with or without modification), there shall be no variation without the prior written consent of the Planning Authority.

Reason

To ensure that the development is carried out only as indicated on the drawings approved by the Planning Authority.

2. No advertisement is to be displayed without the permission of the owner of the site or any other person with an interest in the site entitled to grant permission.

Reason

Required to be imposed pursuant to Regulation 2 and Schedule 1 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements)(England) Regulations, 2007.

3. No advertisement shall be sited or displayed to as to:

a) endanger persons using any highway, railway, waterway, dock, harbour or aerodrome (civil or military);

b) obscure, or hinder the ready interpretation of, any traffic sign, railway signal or aid to navigation by water or air; or

c) hinder the operation of any device used for the purpose of security or surveillance or for measuring the speed of any vehicle.

Reason

Required to be imposed pursuant to Regulation 2 and Schedule 1 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements)(England) Regulations, 2007.

4. Any advertisement displayed, and any site used for the display of advertisements, shall be maintained in a condition that does not impair the visual amenity of the site.

5. Any structure or hoarding erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a condition that does not endanger the public.

62 – 4 Piel View Grove, Barrow-in-Furness

From Mr K. O’Neil in respect of the erection of a log cabin in rear garden at 4 Piel View Grove, Barrow-in-Furness as shown on plan number 2015/0240.

Representations received were reported.

RESOLVED:- That planning permission be granted subject to the Standard Duration Limit and the following conditions:-

2. The development must be carried out in accordance with the plans (drawing reference ‘4 Piel View Grove’ ref: 1 & ref: 2) hereby approved as submitted with the application form dated 19.03.15.

Reason

To ensure that the development is carried out only as indicated on the drawings approved by the Planning Authority.

3. Notwithstanding the provisions of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (or any Order revoking or re-enacting that Order with or without modifications) no opening of any kind shall be made in the southeast facing rear elevation of the permitted outbuilding.

Reason

In order to protect the residential amenities of neighbouring properties from overlooking or perceived overlooking.

63 – Rear of 14 Dane Avenue, Barrow-in-Furness

From Mr and Mrs R. Rollings in respect of Outline Planning Permission with all matters reserved for a new dwelling and garages in the rear garden including demolition of garage of existing house to facilitate a new driveway at the rear of 14 Dane Avenue, Barrow-in-Furness as shown on plan number 2015/0257.
