12 / Barking Spider Visual Theatre / A Ticket to a Ball - A society that once was… / The project brings together Boroondara Symphonic Band (BSB) and Boroondara elderly citizens to explore local histories of dancing, dances and music and create a music/dance performance, performed by community participants for the general public. The project's inspiration is a ticket to a Military Ball held at Hawthorn Town Hall in 1930 from the Town Hall Gallery Collection. 15 / Boroondara Community Outreach - (Presbytery of Yarra Yarra Uniting Church) / Freshen Up / This project will facilitate access to existing shower facilities in the YMCA’s for people who are homeless in Boroondara. 32 / Davis Street Kindergarten / CIRCLE Day program / CIRCLE day is an intergenerational activity involving Davis St Kindergarten and Carnsworth Uniting AgeWell.A Davis St Kindergarten class will relocate to the Aged Care facility one morning a week for their regular kindergarten session. The funds will cover the cost of transporting the children via a bus service back to the kindergarten at the end of the sessions. 35 / Eastern Domestic Violence Service / Promoting Elders' Rights to Feel Safe / The Promoting Elders’ Rights to Feel Safe’ project will provide 10 x three-hour training sessions on ‘Elder Abuse – How to Recognise, Respond and Refer’ to aged care staff and HACC workers in Boroondara and create a streamlined referral pathway to EDVOS. The project will include focus group interviews with aged care workers in Boroondara, develop elder abuse family violence training and targeted information brochures. / $5,000.00
36 / Eating Disorders Victoria / Body Pride / Funding is requested for the Body Pride project to improve the physical and mental health outcomes for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex and Questioning (LGBTIQ) young people in Boroondara. This will be achieved by running a six-week psycho-education program full of engaging and interactive sessions which will address self-esteem, poor body image and disordered eating. / $3,910.00
