Implementation Boot Camp Lab Environment

Boot Camp Environment Overview

Labs for this boot camp are conducted using an image on the OPN internal Cloud, built on the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” image environment, a fully functional virtual machine based demo environment. This image can be accessed by students from their individual workstations. Instructions for accessing the image as well as workstation hardware and software requirements are provided below.

In addition to the base Image, there are supporting lab files that must be copied on to the image once the user has accessed the image. These files are contained within the electronic materials that are distributed on Day 1 of the boot camp.

In Class Training

·  All necessary files are pre-loaded for your convenience onto the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” image environment under:

o  D:\2 Hyperion Planning Boot Camp 11.1.2.2

o  D:\1Bootcamp – contains all Hyperion Planning Scripts

·  If the files above are not found, it is necessary to copy Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.2 Implementation Boot Camp Lab Files.zip file from the Student Kit \ Lab Material folder onto the C:\ or D:\ drive of the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE Environment;

o  Unzip the zip file (just copied) to the C:\ or D:\ drive;

·  Insure that all pc’s in classroom have high internet speed connectivity and have access to the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE Environment;

·  Connect all pc’s to the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE image;

·  Start Hyperion Services for “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE Environment on all pc’s in classroom by utilizing the “Start Suite (Planning)” shortcut located on the Desktop

·  Run IE and open the Workspace URL from the Favorites;

·  Make sure all pc’s can logon to Workspace and can open an existing Hyperion Planning application;

Live Virtual Training

·  All necessary files are pre-loaded for your convenience onto the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” image environment under:

o  D:\2 Hyperion Planning Boot Camp 11.1.2.2

o  D:\1Bootcamp – contains all Hyperion Planning Scripts

·  If the files above are not found, it is necessary to copy Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.2 Implementation Boot Camp Lab Files.zip file from the Student Kit \ Lab Material folder onto the C:\ or D:\ drive of the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE Environment;

·  All students to connect to the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE image;

·  All students to start Hyperion Services for “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE Environment by utilizing the “Start Suite (Planning)” shortcut located on the Desktop

·  All students to run IE and open the Workspace URL from the Favorites;

·  Make sure all students can logon to Workspace and can open an existing Hyperion Planning application;

Accessing the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” IMAGE Environment

·  Follow instructions provided by the OPNEC team to access and connect to the “PTA_WIN2K8R2X64_QUBIX_HFM11G_V2” image environment

Student Workstation Requirements

To support this environment, student workstations must meet these specifications:

·  Processor: 1.5 Ghz or faster

·  RAM: 2GB

·  Hard Disk Space: 1GB Free Space

·  USB 2.0 port (at least one available)

Software

·  OS: MS Windows XP SP2, Vista or 7, Apple OS X

·  Internet Browser: IE 7 or higher, Safari, Mozilla, Google Chrome
