A. Faculty Awards calendar

B. Provost Search Committee will be meeting to review the 4 finalists and requests feedback from everyone including those who met all the candidates. Please send evaluation forms to D. Crawley, chair, or any member of the Search Committee.

C. TEC Workshops: ±80 participants signed up/participating in sessions held 5/22/06 and 5/24/06.

D. WAC workshop held 5/22/06 will be repeated 5/24/06.

E. Commencement 5/25/06. Please arrive EARLY! Parking will be at College

Park Apartments and the north entrance will be closed by Mahwah Police beginning at 9:00a. Robing will be in SC137-138 at 9:15a with light refreshments provided. Processional will begin at 9:45a.

F. Final grades are due by 5/30/06

G. Adjustments have been made to the Academic Meeting Calendar.

H. Joint meeting of current Faculty Assembly Council and incoming Faculty Assembly Executive Council have reviewed accomplishments and outstanding issues prior to the Executive Council taking office in September.

I. Consultative Group has met once this semester and will be meeting 5/26/06 along with potential meetings over the summer.

J. Budget forum with VP Bruni and additional meeting with President Mercer on 5/19/06. (See resolution under New Business to be voted on by mail ballot.)

Provost’s Report:

S. Pfeiffer gave his last report as Provost before assuming duties as President of Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. Accomplishments included: new Academic Building, CLA/CEP, ASEC, beginning AACSB Accreditation, DAC, Interim Presidency, and curriculum review.

Report on Email System Migration and Banner/Luminis: D. Singer (see distributed handout on project and progress.)

Report on Anisfield School of Business Policies and Accreditation: P.Mercer

A. President Mercer reported that Dr. Lewis Chakrin will be the Dean of the Anisfield School of Business and informed the group on the progress and process focusing on AACSB accreditation. His comments were followed by a short question and answer period.

ARC Report: S. Klein

Year in review for the Academic Review Committee (ARC) included approval of 234 courses, revised program and curriculum requests, the ARC Manual, and review of student opinion of teaching and learning evaluative piece.

DAC Report: E. Negron, R. Sen, J. Weiss

Review of survey results and strong encouragement to view executive summary and full report posted to the DAC website.

Search Task Force Report: H. Frundt

Report and review of Task Force recommendations and response from administration. Strong encouragement that incoming Faculty Assembly Executive Council revisit recommendations and pursue more complete response from administration.

Library Announcement: L. Keller

The Library now has access to Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Christian Science Monitor historical collections. Please see the News section of the Library’s website for more details.

Report on BOT Capital Improvements Committee: E. Wiener

E. Wiener reported on the progress of the Capital Improvements Committee projects including the new Academic Building that will house the Anisfield School of Business, Phase IX housing (Laurel Hall), the loop road and moving of the south entrance, the Spiritual Center, tree plantings to replace what was taken out for current construction, and the stalled Sustainability Center, campus repairs/renovations, the upcoming completion of the Mansion renovations, and upcoming repaving of the parking lots and resurfacing of the tennis courts and track.

Faculty Resource Center Report and Acknowledgements: P. McLewin

P. McLewin presented a brief Power Point acknowledging all the participants in the various writing, teaching, and scholarship circles and attendees to the various workshops hosted by the FRC during the past year.
