ABC Book Info Sheet with Rubric

If the novel Wuthering Heights had an ABC Book, what would each letter of the alphabet represent? Why? Here is your opportunity to express your creativity in combining the novel with your musical expertise.

Requirements and Guidelines:

  • Cover: Your book should have a cover, which contains Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte, and an illustration or visual. The cover and pages need to be at least 8” in width and 8” in height. Failure to meet this requirement is a 10 point deduction.
  • Each Page: you may use 1 page per letter or have up to 2 letters per page. You are to have a page for every letter of the alphabet with the exception of “X”. Each page should have:
  • A letter prominently displayed
  • Aquote, phrase, or idea from or about the novel that starts with that letter (this must be a sentence written by you or a quote from Emily Bronte’s novel)
  • Some sort of visual.
  • Your final product, consisting of your original cover and pages, needs to be bound whether in a notebook, scrapbook, etc. Remember the binding needs to look professional and of test quality. If the binding looks unprofessional or not of test quality (for example no cover and just stapling the pages), you will receive 10 points off.
  • I will take up to 10 points off for grammatical errors, so please proof your work.
  • This project is a major test grade; therefore, the project needs to reflect time and effort worthy of a test grade.
  • Projects may be turned in before 10/9/13 for 5 points extra credit. There will be a 10 point deduction per day late (10/10 – 10 points off, 10/11 – 20 points off, and 10/14 – 30 points off). No projects will be accepted past 10/14/13.
  • If you need help with your project or supplies, get with me early – not the day before the project is due.
  • The rubric needs to be turned in with the project.
