BOOK IN A BAG

After choosing and reading a book, you are to select a book report container. The container could be a plastic bag, a manila envelope, a can, or anything else that might be appropriate for your book. You are to decorate your containers to convey some of the major details, elements, or themes found in the book.

When the containers are complete, you are to work on the contents of their containers. You must include the following:

  • Questions and Answers Write ten questions based on the book. Five of the questions can be about general content, but the other five must require more thinking. You must then answer these questions.
  • Vocabulary Create a ten-word glossary of unfamiliar words from the book.
  • Things Include five things that have a connection to the story.

The third and final part of the project is an oral presentation. In the presentation, you are to explain the connection of the container to the story, conduct a show and tell about the five things, and then share information about three of the book's literary elements (for example: setting, characters, conflicts, climax, resolution, irony, foreshadowing, theme. Refer to Literary Terms Handbook in back of Lit book.)

Presentations are to be 2-4 minutes in length.

Presentations will take place October 2-4.
