BOLLARD LUMINAIRE RANGE DESIGNED FOR LOW LEVEL AREA LIGHTING AND THE LIGHTING OF WALKWAYS AND ENTRANCES WHERE QUALITY AND VANDAL- RESISTANCE ARE ESSENTIAL

The luminaire shall consist of a head assembly containing the optics and lampholder, as well as a pole base assembly containing the control gear. The pole base assembly shall be manufactured from glass filament wound GRP or 3mm extruded aluminium. It shall be designed to operate LEDs of 29W.

The luminaire shall bear the SANS 60598-2-3 safety mark and the SANS 475 performance mark.

The luminaire shall have a degree of protection that complies with SANS 60598-2-3:

Lamp compartment: IP 66

The IP rating shall be certified by a SABS test report.

The bollard head assembly shall be manufactured from three marine grade high-pressure die-cast aluminium castings consisting of the base casting which shall be fixed permanently to the pole, the top casting which compresses the gasket system by three tie bars and the dome trim casting. The trim casting shall be held to the top casting with a special anti-twist device and one stainless steel special coded access screw.

The gasket system shall ensure that the bollard head assembly is completely sealed from the pole base assembly to ensure that no humidity or dust from the pole assembly rises into the lamp compartment. The bollard protector shall be manufactured from a high temperature, non-discolouring clear impact resistant acrylic with a wall thickness of not less than 8mm. It shall be seamless and smooth on both the inside and outside.

The optical system used in conjunction with the clear diffuser version shall consist of a bead blasted aluminium louvre system providing quality low-level lighting and glare control.

The LED useful lifetime shall be a minimum of 50 000hrs. The LED shall be an effective high-power LED, 4 000K at a colour rendering index of minimum 80.

The control gear shall be incorporated inside the pole base assembly and mounted on a 2mm stainless steel gear tray which shall be held to the base casting with two captive screws for ease of maintenance. It shall be suitable for operation with the specified rating of the light source on a 198V-277V 50Hz single phase system.

All control gear components shall be removable and bear the relevant SABS mark. All internal wiring shall be Teflon® coated with protective sleeving to prevent damage by possible abrasion. All screws, bolts and metal parts shall be stainless steel or non-corrosive material. Mains connections shall be by means of a suitable screw terminal block with a wire clamping contact. The power factor shall be rated at ≥0.95.
