Trinity Multi Academy Trust

Thank you for your interest in applying for a role at Trinity Academy Halifax, and your interest in being part of our growing Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). Our vision is to inspire each and every student across the Trust, to achieve their potential through high-quality teaching, provided within an environment led by our Christian values.

We gained MAT status in late 2015 and our family of academy’s and Free Schools is expanding. Within the growing Multi-Academy Trust, Trinity Academy is the outstanding flagship school, our Executive Principal is a National Leader of Education and we are the lead school in the Trinity Teaching School Alliance and White Rose Maths Hub.

Recently The Maltings College and Akroydon Primary in Halifax joined our trust and we are working with other primary and secondary schools and academies, to provide support and leadership. These schools include Cathedral Academy in Wakefield and Sowerby Bridge High School.

Learning Support

The learning support teams in the academy are essential in supporting students learning.

The post of Cover Supervisor is advertised at 39 weeks (term time plus 5 days). The additional 5 days of this term time working pattern is to recognise your attendance at some INSET (training) days, or as directed by your line manager, which may involve working when the academy is closed to students.

You will also be requested to fulfil the role of Form Tutor. This role will require you to attend Parent Consultation Evenings, to meet parents and discuss students’ performance. The additional days recognise your attendance at these evenings.

Cover Supervisor

The role of Cover Supervisor is essential to the smooth running of the academy and to cover the unplanned absences of teachers.

You will be provided with suitable cover work and be expected to supervise students to complete this work, as directed by the usual classroom teacher. Good organisation skills, flexibility and confidence in dealing with a classroom situation are essential.

You will work across all phases of learning (Y7-Y13) and cover all subjects. Full training will be given on the academy’s Behaviour for Learning and reward policies so that you are equipped to supervise students within their usual framework.

The successful candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, experience of using their initiative and the ability to work collaboratively with students and staff. This is an ideal opportunity if you are seeking a career in teaching, or are looking to develop your career within an education setting.

Vacancy Requirements

For the role, candidates must possess 5 or more GCSE’s (or equivalent) at C or better, including English and Maths.

Experience of teaching (or other relevant learning environments), covering groups or whole classes (students 11-18) is essential for this role, along with basic experience of assessing student progress and contributing to assessment processes.

This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in education, or a career working with children and young people.

Empathy. Honesty. Respect. Responsibility.
