PRESS RELEASE

BOGE starting air compressors are making waves in the machine room

Compressed air specialist BOGE launches its range for the marine sector onto the market

With the launch of its “Marine products” range, compressed air expert BOGE Compressors sets its course for the shipping sector:BOGE designed the SRH-/RH-starting air compressors, with theiroutstanding life expectancy, especially for the long and harsh conditions at sea.BOGE also supplies working air compressors and nitrogen generators for the maritime industry.

Whether vessels are about to set sail or need to manoeuvre – a reliable supply of compressed air is essential to start up their diesel engines. All the components of the new BOGE SRH-/RH-starting air compressors are designed to meet strictmaritime shipping requirements and are certified as such.No matter whether they are 2-stage, 3-stage or 4-stage compressors, or have two or four cylinders – the air-cooled, belt-driven piston compressors will provide 35 bar – and even up to 40 bar, if necessary. The BOGE starting air compressors are available for 3 to 37 kW output.Because space is a problem on ships, the marine compressors have a compact design, making them ideallysuited for confined machine rooms. Thanks to their high-quality and robust components, BOGE starting air compressors will defy even the high machine roomambient temperatures ranging up to 45° Celsius.Since the compressors run at low speeds, their life expectancy is exceptionally high. The use of only high-quality materials thusguarantees a long lifetime at minimal maintenance costs and maximum reliability.

Working air and nitrogen supply at sea

BOGE's S3 series has proved extremely successful on shore. With its “effilence” air ends, it will be indispensableto all on board maintenance and repair work on the high seas.Their efficiency is unbeatable –at extremely quiet operation and minimal sound pressure levels in the performance range 22 to 45 kW.The reliable operation of BOGE screw compressors will reduce idle periods for servicing and repairs to a minimum - saving ship owners and shipping companies hard cash.

Due to the “inert” property of the gas, BOGE nitrogen generators prevent freight such as methane from attacking cargo tanks under the influence of oxygen. Rinsing the tanks and oil line systems with nitrogen will furthermore remove residuals.Nitrogen will also extend the shelf life of foodstuffs over long marine transport runs. Maritime vessels increasingly use liquefied gas (LPG) as a fuel and are accordingly required to have nitrogen generators on board. BOGE generatorssupply nitrogen for keeping the dew point to -40°C - to absolutely rule out the possibility of gas reacting with steam.

Fully certified Plug & Play solutions

BOGE developed all its Marine products to handle maritime challenges specifically andthese products will also meet all conventional certification requirements in the marine sector. The BOGE marine compressorsystems are designed to be put to work immediately. The compressor and motor share a stable common base plate and everything is fully wired - this means that installation can be completed within normal berthing times.Even oil level and temperature monitoring can be included if you wish. The equipment sports a sturdy base frame designed forbolting or welding to the floor, allowing it to safely ride out rough seas.
